The Film Room is wide open! We move into South Dakota's 2028 class to take a look at some names to know out of the hotbed that is the Sioux Falls Area. Plenty of upside yet to be proven in this group and we are excited to have a front row seat to see how it grows!

Jake is the first prospect that has caught my attention from the new 9-man program over at Sioux Falls Lutheran as a 6'1 155 pounder that has some intriguing upside yet to prove in the coming years. The eye test for athleticism is surely there for the taking for Jake as he has really long strides for his age and gets upfield super quickly to shut down the ball carrier that got upfield. The upside is with his athletic movement, as he still is figuring out how to utilize his change of direction to it's full extent without wasted movement, which even with his tape you see improvement on this the longer you watch it. Best fit positionally in my eyes for Jake is as a free safety but with his athleticism there surely is some position flexibility he can attain at the 9-man level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1597611' first='Allister' last='Haft'], LB, Sioux Falls Lincoln

Allister is another one that passes the early eye test as an outside linebacker for Sioux Falls Lincoln. The 6'0 180 pounder looks like he has the body type that has the room to grow in the coming years, as Allister shows off a long lower body that brings an upside of range incoming at the linebacker position. The tape shows off the fluid athletic movement and uprising football IQ that shows off good footwork for his age with no wasted steps and a quick process of getting downhill to the ball carrier. The vison that Allister has seems to be relatively consistent as a run-stopper that although the tape is light, he shows off the potential for a rise in the future with the Patriots.

[player_tooltip player_id='1575960' first='Tanner' last='Boonstra'], WR, Dakota Valley Twitter

Tanner already looks like a 2028 stockriser in this South Dakota class and we haven't even hit summer camps as of yet. The development with his speed at the top of his route is going to be faster the next time we get a live eval, due to his 100-meter dash improving .34 this spring with a new PR of 11.4 which is great for just a freshmen. Tanner is one the most intriguing wide receivers in this South Dakota 2028 class, as his play as a slot receiver sees many more deep routes than you would expect, but his ability to take the top of the secondary is surely consistent on tape as his seperation rate once the ball is in his hands is excellent. This 2028 WR class is trending to be a good one in the Mount Rushmore State.

[player_tooltip player_id='1367471' first='Jayden' last='Hanson'], WR, Sioux Falls Jefferson Twitter

Jayden is another wide receiver in this 2028 class I have circled as a high probability of being a stockriser by our next 2028 rankings update in South Dakota as Jayden's athleticism as a pass-catcher is very inriguing for his age. He shows off great balance with his footwork too around the edges of the field and I can quickly gauge plays with a football IQ that plays above his class already. He might not have the size as of yet, but he possesses the big play ability in high traffic areas that impresses me on tape. Jayden has been named a top performer at our Nebraska 7v7 tournament and his name has been one persistently passed on to me as one to know amongst WRs in this 2028 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='1602521' first='Talon' last='Bellmer'], LB, Sioux Falls Lincoln Twitter

Talon is a 2028 middle linebacker out of Sioux Falls Lincoln that appears as a prospect with growing upside. The 5'10 170 pounder caught my attention with how well-versed his pre-snap positioning was for his age and his pursuit angles downhill to the ball were some of the better ones I have seen recently in this age group at the linebacker spot, as you could see the instinctive movement that was there to grow. He has some upside to grow out his twitch with his change of direction, but surely Talon looks like a MLB that seems to be in the right position at the right time on most occasions. He surely could be a 2028 linebacker on the rise out of Sioux Falls Lincoln.
