Film Room Fridays- Defensive/Two Way Prospects of the Week

Welcome back to Film Room Fridays!   In this installment, we are taking a look at some of the recent submissions we have received from some dynamic two-way/defensive prospects across the state. [player_tooltip player_id='1610201' first='Marcus' last='Muse']<a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/marcus-muse/"></a> <a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/marcus-muse/"></a> was dominant for Central Tuscaloosa's defensive line last fall- making tons of plays against the run and pass against some really talented teams.   At 6'3 275, Muse has great size, speed, and strength that he uses to dominate the line of scrimmage. Muse is excellent at fighting off blockers to come up with huge stops- he's really quick, has a ton of power, and works his way around OL to make plays behind the line of scrimmage. Muse is also terrific in pursuit- he has a high motor, plays with a ton of effort, and will work across the field to make hustle plays.   Muse dominated all last season for Central Tuscaloosa, ending his sophomore year with 48 total tackles (19 solo, one for loss) and one FF.   Muse has had an impressive offseason, picking up offers from Troy, Jacksonville State, Toledo, and more. Check out his tape below and you'll see why- he's a talented 2027 with a huge year ahead.      [player_tooltip player_id='1647166' first='Jakarie' last='Cheatham'] is a seriously talented WR/DB out of Sparta Academy coming off a dominant season on both sides of the field.   At WR, Cheatham is a huge threat downfield- he's really fast, can burn DBs, and does an excellent job tracking and hauling the ball in for huge plays out wide. Cheatham has also shown the ability to take jet sweeps and screens the distance, he's a talented weapon with the ball in his hands who can attack every level of the field.   At DB, Cheatham uses the same ball skills to break on the ball and rack up PBUs and INTs- he's a huge threat in coverage offenses should look away from with how easy it is for him to create turnovers. On top of that, he's great at tracking and attacking the ball against the run to come up with tackles for little to no gain.   Cheatham ended his junior season with 1,007 receiving yards, 14 TDs, and 10 interceptions on defense.   Do yourself a favor and check out Cheatham's film below, he's a seriously talented ATH with a big senior season ahead.      [player_tooltip player_id='1647172' first='Haven' last='Massengile'] is a talented DB/WR who made huge plays on both sides of the ball all last season for North Jackson.   Offensively, Massengile is a dominant deep threat who can create huge plays out wide and completely flip the field/score within a moment's notice. He's really quick on his feet, gains tons of separation, and can burn DBs for huge receptions downfield. I'm really impressed with Massengiles' ability to create extra yards after the catch, he's great at making defenders miss and makes the most out of every reception.   Defensively, Massengile is a physical DB who thrives man-to-man. Massengile is terrific in coverage and does a great job wearing down WRs and getting his hands on the ball. consistently coming away with PBUs and INTs. Massengile is also productive against the run- he flies downhill, fills in lanes, and takes down the ball carrier with ease.   Massengile produced all over the field last fall, ending his sophomore year with 20 receptions for 298 yards and 4 TDs on offense, and 31 total tackles, one sack, and one INT on defense.   Check out Massengile's sophomore tape below, he's a talented player on both sides of the ball heading into a big junior year.      [player_tooltip player_id='1596026' first='Cade' last='Hawkins'] is a force in the trenches on Elkmont's offensive and defensive lines coming off a dominant junior season last fall.   Defensively, Hawkins is a reliable pass rusher who consistently finds ways around OL and generates tons of pressure and sacks on opposing quarterbacks. He has a quick first step, impressive strength, and a wide variety of moves he uses to beat OL- it's really impressive how quickly he makes his way to the quarterback.   Offensively, Hawkins is a reliable OT who is dominant in pass protection. Hawkins is quick, plays with great leverage and strength, and consistently keeps pass rushers outside of the pocket to provide plenty of time for his QB to push the ball downfield.   Check out some of Hawkin's junior tape below- he's a really versatile and impressive prospect with a big year ahead!      [player_tooltip player_id='1647178' first='Cameron' last='Smith'] a versatile DB out of Calera who is coming off a really impressive sophomore season last fall.   Smith is a highly athletic and versatile DB who can make huge plays in so many different ways for his team's defense. Smith is dominant out in coverage, he utilizes his size, speed, and hands to slow down WRs and come up with huge stops. I'm really impressed with his ball skills- he's great at tracking and getting his hands on the ball to break up and pick off passes downfield.   Smith can also be utilized as a blitzer- he's quick to make his way into the backfield and frequently generates pressure and racks up sacks on the quarterback.   Smith was really productive last season, ending his sophomore year with 90 total tackles (30 solo), 5 sacks, 2 FF, 5 PBUs, 1 INT, and 1 KR.   Check out some of Smith's film below, he's already incredibly reliable in Calera's secondary and is set for a big junior season this fall.
