With the 2025 high school football season approaching, the one thing that head coach Steph Durham and his coaches do not want to hear is what happened last season.

Every coach and player at Jacksonville Atlantic Coast understand that dwelling on the past will never open the positives up for the future – and that future started this off-season.

With some new faces and key returnees, the Stingrays have approached this time with plenty of enthusiasm and knowing that the players coming back along with the newcomers see how much this coaching staff wants to win and turn things around.

If that turnaround is to start taking shape, the rising senior (2026) class will be a great place to start.

Here are some of those players to keep an eye on:

Jordan Clark, ILB, 6'1, 210 - 3.8 GPA. Not only can this quality prospect read and make tackles, but he drops in coverage and defends passes as well. Solid football talent.

Jabari McMillian, DB/ATH, 5'11, 175 - 3.3 GPA. When it comes to rolling up his sleeves and playing anywhere on the field, this (4.4 – 40) speedster is a huge asset for this program.

[player_tooltip player_id='1582557' first='Cameron' last='Murphy'], OLB/DE, 6'3 220. Yet another versatile prospect that this program rolls out for the 2025 season. He is not only quick off the ball but is crafty coming off the edge, causing havoc for many offensive linemen.

Ethan Redding, WR, 5'10, 185 – 3.3 GPA. Whether it's as an outside receiver or in the slot, here is a talented young man who continues to step up. Good hands, runs solid patterns and has the speed to separate.

TAPE: http://www.hudl.com/v/2Qfcwv

Alex Tluang, OL, 6'3, 275 – 4.2 GPA. No matter if it's in the classroom, where he continues to elevate – or on the football field where he is a protector for the passing game or opening holes for the runners – this is a leader that this team certainly needs more of on the field.

CLASS OF 2027 WILL BE THE KEY

As gifted as those rising seniors will be, those rising juniors in the Class of 2027 will also be a place to keep an eye on:

Taeshaun Brown, DB, 6'0, 190 – 3.5 GPA. While he is just a rising junior, this is truly a prospect that you will want to keep an eye on – in the classroom and on the football field. A versatile secondary performer who has the athleticism and skill to play cornerback or lineup at the safety position.

TAPE: http://www.hudl.com/v/2QSTxe

Isreal Hayward, DE, 6'3, 200 – 4.1 GPA. There were some huge moves in the off-season, but this quality student/athlete, who also competes in basketball and track & field, will be a huge asset to the building process. Has the size, quickness and athletic ability to be special.

Isaiah Jackson, OL/DL, 6'2, 260. His ability to play on both sides of the ball is what helps programs build. But when you dominate on each side then you are making major strides. As a nose tackle, playing over center, you had better double team him because his strong, plays low and will shed one blocker – quickly.

[player_tooltip player_id='1671027' first='Desmond' last='Malpress'], Edge, 6'3 215 – 3.3 GPA. Before the first snap of his junior season, he already established himself as a prospect to watch with a solid performance at the Under Armour Next event. He is quick off the ball and uses his long arms and leverage to gain control. This is a prospect that you will want to keep an eye on this spring and summer.

Cory Matthews, ILB, 6'1, 215. There is nothing like a football prospect who also stands out in another sport, and this impressive playmaker on the defensive side of the ball. This newcomer has already proven that he is going to be the glue for this defensive unit this coming season as well as already showcasing his many skills on the baseball field as a pitcher, infielder and outfielder. Coaches simply cannot wait for his many contributions to this team.
