As promised, our look at the latest Class of '28 newcomers from the KC area and surrounding counties continues. The group featured in Part I is a tough act to follow. However, this second group is sure to impress folks as well.

Each of these prospects are capable of making some noise as sophomores. A few should even be considered breakout candidates for the '25 campaign. Take a look at where they debuted in this February update.

[player_tooltip player_id='1590405' first='Caysen' last='Colton'] – Shawnee Mission NW, 6'0”, 175, LB

Colton of SMNW came away with the highest debut from this group. He entered the rankings at No. 79 overall and is the 12th ranked linebacker in the class. Given his strong performance in 2024, look for him to compete for varsity playing time during his sophomroe year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1590411' first='Houston' last='Robb'] – Blue Valley SW, 5'11”, 180, LB

The second highest debut from this group came from Robb of BVSW. Robb is the 13th ranked prospect at his position and is the 81st ranked player in the class. He's stayed busy throughout this winter, and he'll be ready to turn heads when combine season comes rolling around.

[player_tooltip player_id='1591883' first='Beckett' last='Kullberg'] – Blue Valley North, 6'1”, 175, TE/WR

There are quite a few pass catchers in this class to be excited about in the future. Kullberg of BVN falls into that category. He had a solid freshman season in 2024, and he looks poised to take his game to another level this year. Kullberg will be another Building Champions prospect to watch during the 7-On-7 circuit.

[player_tooltip player_id='1619536' first='Sy' last='Thomas'] – Eudora, 6'0”, 150, QB

Thomas is one of the potential breakout players I was eluding to earlier in this report. He was one of a few quarterbacks to see vasirty action in 2024. While he didn't start the entire season, the film he was able to put together was really encouraging. A lot can change between now and fall of 2027, but Thomas has shown early signs of being the top dual-threat QB in this class.

[player_tooltip player_id='1619547' first='Romethel' last='Byrd Jr.'] – Turner, 5'10”, 165, RB

Another prospect that is a potential breakout player for the '25 campaign is Byrd Jr. of Turner. Between his playmaking at the freshman level and limited varsity action in 2024, he showed enough to be in consideration for Turner's starting job next season. He debuted just inside the Top 100 at No. 99 overall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1620511' first='Keelyn' last='Duncan'] – Eudora, 5'11”, 175, ATH

Duncan joined his fellow Eudora teammate in this update, as he rounded off the Top 100. He saw quite a bit of varsity action during his freshman season, and proved to be an impact player for the Cardinals. Expect for him to have a larger role on offense during the '25 campaing.

[player_tooltip player_id='1620514' first='Ryan' last='Dyer'] – Schlagle, 5'10”, 160, QB/ATH

Dyer of Schlagle caps off this group of KC area newcomers. He appeared in all nine of Schlagle's contests last season, and did a little bit of everything for the Stallions. His versatile play should help him earn more varsity playing time as sophomore.
