The Prep Redzone Stock Up Showcase circuit made a stop in the DFW area on Sunday and once again, Texas showed out in a big way. We saw quite a few playmakers on both sides of the ball throughout the day and our writers will be breaking down those players throughout the week. In this breakdown, we're taking a look at the fastest prospects in attendance. These six players finished in the top five (there was a tie) from the 40-yard dash on Sunday. And there's no doubt that the running backs stood out in this department with four out of the six players listed from that position group.

Maleek Johnson - 2026 Running Back

There's fast, and then there's Maleek Johnson fast. When we heard this time, we didn't believe it at first. Now, full disclosure, these were all hand-timed tests. But still, 2026 running back Maleek Johnson was absolutely flying. His first time was clocked at 4.37 seconds. Now, if his second time was far off, we could have an issue with that time. But his second time clocked in at 4.44 seconds. Johnson's two times should stack up against anyone at the Stock Up Showcase series in the country.

Joey Shelton - 2025 Wide Receiver

2025 wide receiver Joey Shelton is the only 2025 prospect on this breakdown and the only wide receiver on this breakdown. Shelton is still searching for his next opportunity and he made the most of his time on Sunday. Shelton ran the second fastest time at 4.47 seconds. He turned around and really had a strong day in individual and one on ones.

[player_tooltip player_id='1596148' first='Braxton' last='Moore'] - 2027 Running Back

2027 running back [player_tooltip player_id='1596148' first='Braxton' last='Moore'] came in third for the fastest time with a run of 4.55 seconds. Moore was incredibly consistent with his two runs on Sunday afternoon. In his second run, he was clocked at 4.59 seconds. That consistency in the testing portion of the camp was something that certainly stood out to us on Sunday.

[player_tooltip player_id='1596717' first='Braylen' last='Ford'] - 2026 Defensive Back

2026 defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='1596717' first='Braylen' last='Ford'] was our only defensive player to crack the top five and he begins the list of three players that tied for the fourth fastest time. Ford would clock in at 4.59 seconds and that was good to tie with the two others for fourth place. His other time was 4.75 seconds so he definitely benefitted from going twice on Sunday.

Carmello Carter - 2028 Running Back

2028 running back Carmello Carter is the youngest prospect on this breakdown as he's in the second semester of his freshman season but already showcasing the wheels. Like Ford, Carter would finish one of his times with a 4.59 and on his other attempt, he was able to clock in at 4.72 seconds. He's off to a great start for just a freshman.

[player_tooltip player_id='1595521' first='Peyton' last='Ewing'] - 2026 Running Back

2026 running back [player_tooltip player_id='1595521' first='Peyton' last='Ewing'] was the third prospect that tied for the fourth fastest 40-yard dash time at 4.59 seconds but you can make the argument that he should be a notch above the other two guys. Ewing also ran a time of 4.63 seconds and between his two runs, he had the fastest combined times. He was another running back that had a solid day.
