One of the sneaky good ball-hawks in the '25 DB class. Kearney's [player_tooltip player_id='415237' first='Carson' last='Baker'] had a great first full season as a starter, providing great coverage and playmaking in the Bearcat's secondary. Carson showed that he can play anywhere in the secondary, but his upside at safety/nickel is worth looking more into. He sees the field extremely well from the deep safety position and has the quick trigger and closing speed to get to the ball in a flash. Baker's fluid change of direction and underrated speed allow him to stay in tight coverage with receivers. Great ball skills when the ball is in play. You know you're getting a playmaker when you snag one of those Kearney skill position guys!

Very surprising to see a player like Ryan still on the board, considering his measurables and production in the past few seasons. Ryan has been a big part in Scottsbluff's success in the running game, including multiple 1,000+ rushers. Hinman is a tall, athletic lineman at 6'6" and 260 pounds with the footwork and lateral quickness to execute second-level blocks while keeping his eyes downfield looking for more defenders to take out.

Talk about a breakout season! Fillmore Central senior [player_tooltip player_id='893581' first='Kiffin' last='Theobald'] emerged as a top-tier playmaker last season as he broke through for 121 total tackles after recording 31 as a junior. Theobald also added five TFLs and an interception. Theobald is a classic MIKE linebacker who can command the defense from the middle of the field with the frame you're looking for at 6'2" and 210 lbs. Kiffin is a punishing tackler who does a great job breaking down, using sound technique, and driving through the ball carrier. Theobald reads his keys very well and is extremely explosive when hitting his gaps. He does a great job converting his speed to power to blow up blockers at the line of scrimmage to continue his pursuit of the ball. Very physical and smart linebacker who can bolster your LB group at the next level!

[player_tooltip player_id='1060850' first='Conner' last='Troyer'] (@ConnerTroyer1), QB - DC West - 6'1" 170 lbs

[player_tooltip player_id='1060850' first='Conner' last='Troyer'] stepped up nicely in his senior season as he led the Falcons to another playoff appearance, showing that he can be a threat with his arm or legs. Conner capped off his prep career with 731 passing yards, 596 rushing yards, nine passing touchdowns, and seven rushing touchdowns during his senior year. Watching Conner's tape, I was really impressed with his decision-making with the ball, especially when running the option, with quick instincts to decide when to pitch it and when to keep it for himself. He's a great athlete with the ball in his arm, displaying a shifty, elusive running style that allows him to make defenders miss in the open field. Troyer has good burst when he sees the open field with the acceleration and speed to hit the homerun ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='318988' first='Jaden' last='Griffin'] (@JadenG5_), LB/ATH - Omaha Central - 5'9" 190 lbs

Another hidden gem LB who made a jump in the rankings is Omaha Central's [player_tooltip player_id='318988' first='Jaden' last='Griffin']. Jaden is an interesting player listed as a linebacker but has shown that he could also play slot/nickel and might even draw interest at safety. Griffin ended his senior season with 44 tackles, a TFL, a sack, and two fumble recoveries. Jaden isn't the biggest LB out there, but he flashes a smart, physical playstyle that often finds him near the ball. He's effective at working through the line of scrimmage, displaying sound gap play and the strength to disengage from blocks. Another thing that stood out about Jaden's tape is how well he tracks the ball throughout the play and can flow to the ball carrier. Griffin has seen a nice jump in his recruitment since the end of the season with offers from Midland, Briar Cliff, and Hastings College.
