The state of Texas is loaded with Division One talent in every direction. Today, I'm looking at which freshmen I think have Division One potential. These guys are making a name for themselves early in their careers and I believe they have an abundance of potential for the next level. They'll be on college coaches' radars sooner rather than later.

QB: [player_tooltip player_id='465272' first='Carter' last='Zingelmann'] 6'4" 215, Liberty Christian

Carter already has division one size, he's got a big arm, he's a feathery deep ball thrower, and is extremely accurate throwing on the move. He's got great touch, is slippery within the pocket, and is a physical runner who will barrel through opposing tackle attempts.

RB: [player_tooltip player_id='1537241' first='Jeremiah' last='Tabor'] 6'2" 200, Melissa

A north and south, upright runner with plenty of build-up speed once he gets going and the ability to muscle his way through arm tackle attempts. He's patient, can make defenders miss at the 2nd & 3rd levels, and shows the vision to bounce a run if the edge isn't set.

WR: [player_tooltip player_id='1035302' first='Josyah' last='Johnson'] 5'9" 165, Allen

A shifty receiver prospect with explosive change of direction, composure & balance through opposing tackle attempts, and soft hands. He's got plenty of speed, he can make defenders miss in a phone booth, he plays much bigger than his listed height, and is a chunk play machine who can gash a defense.

DT: [player_tooltip player_id='1141867' first='RJ' last='Wyms'] 6'2" 255, The Woodlands College Park

Wyms is pretty twitchy for a big man and shows a great first step. He can get skinny through blocks and penetrate in the run game, he has a highly productive bull rush and plays with active hands. He's got a high motor and will chase on runs away, he easily detaches on man blocks and has pretty good flexibility.

DT: [player_tooltip player_id='1083857' first='Ryder' last='Klein'] 6'3" 265, Franklin

A stout interior defensive line prospect who has some pop out of his stance, uses his quickness to defeat double teams, and can manhandle blockers at the point of attack. He plays with low pads, compact hands, and his effort is off the charts.

OL: Tyer Mcurry, 6'5" 250, Atlas

This young man is a physical presence in the run game and looks to punish defenders. He moves well, has a clean kick set, and plays with a bit of an edge. He's got natural redirect skills and can mirror quicker opposing pass rushers.
