Going into this great Thanksgiving day matchup many knew it would be a great battle between these two squads. Individually both teams had successful seasons. Easton came into this game after having a phenomenal 10-2 season. Phillipsburg is coming into this matchup after a 12-1 season. This is a matchup of two successful teams. Let's get to the good stuff!

Easton would start with the football. They were forced to punt on their first possession. Easton's defense made another stop forcing P-Burg to give them the ball back. At this point both defenses are looking solid. Easton's is led by [player_tooltip player_id='940970' first='Kurtis' last='Crossman'], [player_tooltip player_id='1553012' first='Marquis' last='Labossiere'], [player_tooltip player_id='1552428' first='Mekhi' last='Grant'], [player_tooltip player_id='919528' first='Jasir' last='Frutchey'], and Will Day.

Personal fouls would ruin a potential scoring drive for Easton. They punted the football back to P-Burg. Easton would make another defensive stop with 3:42 remaining in the 1st. Score still 0-0.

Fast forward to the 2nd Quarter when Phillipsburg's Matthew Scerbo Jr. took a punt return back to Easton's 34-yard line. P-Burg would capitalize on that drive. Junior Sam Dech took a 6-yard run to the end zone for 6. P-Burg leads 7-0 with 6:24 in the half.

Phillipsburg QB Jett Genovese would add to the lead with a 4-yard TD run with 2:55 in the half. Extending the lead to 14-0. On Easton's last drive of the half they looked promising. [player_tooltip player_id='941170' first='Cole' last='Ordway'] connected with JC Wilson on a 26-yard pass to set Easton up with a first-and-goal. Easton would miss a 22-yard FG at the end of the half. Sending the game into halftime scored 14-0 in favor of Phillipsburg.

Heading into the 3rd Matthew Scerbo Jr. would leave the game after a hard hit. It seemed like this was when the momentum started to shift into Easton's favor. After a Phillipsburg punt Easton completed a 77-yard drive with a [player_tooltip player_id='264263' first='Dorian' last='Thomas'] TD run. This made the score 14-7 with 3:10 left in the 3rd Quarter.

The Red Rovers would stop Phillipsburg again heading into the 4th Quarter. This gives them a chance to tie the game early in the 4th. Phillipsburg would deny Easton that opportunity. P-Burg stopped Easton on a 4th and 1 at the Phillipsburg 8. A huge play for the P-Burg Defense.

Phillipsburg would go three-and-out giving the Red Rovers the ball back with 8:01 remaining. [player_tooltip player_id='264263' first='Dorian' last='Thomas'] will do what [player_tooltip player_id='264263' first='Dorian' last='Thomas'] does. He ties the game with 6:01 remaining after a 5-yard TD run where his offensive line helped him tremendously.

The teams would exchange punts sending the game into OT. Phillipsburg would get the ball first. They settled for a field goal. P-Burg would end up missing the kick wide. Giving Easton a great chance to win the football game. Noah Borluca would be called on to hit his first field goal of the season in a huge moment. Noah hit the field goal from 20-yards out to give Easton the win in dramatic fashion!

Easton now leads the series 68-44-5. What a game. Both defenses performed very well. Credit to both coaching staffs for calling a great game. This one will go down as one of the great games in this series.
