Class of 2028, welcome to the dance. Prep Redzone Kansas released its first rankings for the Kansas Class of 2028 earlier today.

This debut rankings list includes 60 athletes from the Sunflower State.

Athletes, coaches, and parents can use this link for an explanation of the rankings process. https://prepredzone.com/how-we-rank/

I encourage ranked and unranked athletes to claim or create profiles which can be accomplished by using the following link. https://prepredzone.com/prospect-index/ Athletes can add photos, contact information, and video highlights that our paid subscribers and scouts can access.

There are also several reports on Prep Redzone that go into more detail on other issues I take into account when putting together the rankings.

I would also like athletes, parents, and coaches to remember this is just the beginning and not the end of the rankings process. Prep Redzone Kansas currently has 600 players ranked in the class of 2025. More players will be added to the rankings and a current ranked athlete will rise or drop with each round of additions.

Most of the athletes in this initial list either played some varsity ball this season and have stats recorded on Max Preps, or they are athletes who created their own profiles, and reached out to me or other Kansas scouts on social media.

If you have questions or concerns about our rankings feel free to email me at deckscoutks@gmail.com and when you do remember I will not respond to negative emails.

Here is a look at the top ten ranked players out of the shoot.

Congratulations to the 60 ranked athletes, your journey with Prep Redzone Kansas begins now.

[player_tooltip player_id='1083570' first='Baron' last='Marshall'], ATH, 6'2”, 160, Blue Valley Northwest, '28

The No. 1 ranked athlete in the new rankings is Northwest's Marshall. As a freshman, he already has Division I offers from Kansas, Miami, Missouri, BYU, and Iowa State. He can play wideout, defensive back, or a variety of other positions. He obviously has a bright future.

[player_tooltip player_id='884942' first='A'Keem' last='“King” Anderson'], ATH, 5'8”, 140, Salina Central, ‘28

Salina Central's Anderson begins his rankings journey at No. 2 overall. The Mustang prospect is fast and plays 7 v 7 Club Ball with the Kansas Colts.

[player_tooltip player_id='1083571' first='Braxton' last='Wagner'], QB, 6'1”, 175, Blue Valley North, ‘28

Wagner starts at the top-ranked quarterback in the class of 2028. He is a multiple-sport prospect who also plays baseball and basketball.

[player_tooltip player_id='991686' first='Blue' last='Zambo'], ATH/DB, 5'6”, 125, Mill Valley, ‘28

Zambo debuts in the ranking at No. 4 overall. He is a quick athlete who plays multiple sports including track and field. Mill Valley consistently produces college talent which helped in the rankings early.

[player_tooltip player_id='1075837' first='Tevin' last='Cotter'], QB, 6'0”, 180, Liberal, ‘28

Cotter has the statistics to prove that he belongs in the Top 5. The Liberal signal caller debuts at No. 5 overall and as the second-ranked quarterback. During Liberal's eight-game regular season, he finished with 996 yards passing and nine touchdowns.

[player_tooltip player_id='1147299' first='Holden' last='Ferralez'], ATH, 5'10”, 130, Sedgwick, ‘28

The Cardinals have been producing winning teams and high-skilled athletes. Ferralez might be next in that line. He debuts at the No. 6 position. He is fast and versatile enough to play multiple positions in high school and at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1080736' first='Edric' last='Zorn'], RB, 5'11”, 180, Halstead, ‘28

Zorn enters the rankings at No. 7 overall. He projects to be a future running back for the Dragons and could play linebacker or defensive back on the other side of the ball. He was utilized as a ball carrier and pass catcher in the Dragons' offensive this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1352648' first='Carter' last='Jenkins'], OL, 5'10”, 210, Circle, ‘28

The top lineman in the rankings is Circle's Jenkins. He is a physical young man who slots in at No. 8 overall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1351253' first='Carter' last='Raney'], LB, 5'9”, 145, Spring Hill, ‘28

Raney debuts as the top-ranked linebacker and is ranked No. 9 overall. Raney played mostly below the varsity level this season but did get a few reps in varsity games for the Bronchos.

[player_tooltip player_id='1256364' first='Trenton' last='King'], LB/RB, 6'1”, 185, Emporia, ‘28

Emporia's King rounds out the top ten in the new class. He is already a physical athlete. The key for him to remain in the top ten will be to get his name out there and continue to put in work during the offseason.
