It was another group project kind of week in the Lowcountry.

Between blowouts and a few highly contested games, duets and trios linked up to carry their teams to Week 8 victories. As we come down the home stretch, don't be surprised to see these names pop up again.

Jack Wattie DB, [player_tooltip player_id='1094944' first='Aiden' last='Manavian'] QB and [player_tooltip player_id='809757' first='Will' last='Virgilio'] WR, Oceanside Collegiate

That tough non-region slate is starting to pay dividends for the Landsharks. Because most of the team's starters were resting up in the second half of a 41-0 win over Battery Creek. Still, these three players all had huge games. Wattie finished with nine total tackles, an interception (that he returned 58 yards) and two pass break-ups. Manavian was eight-of-15 passing for 308 yards and four touchdowns and tacked on a rushing touchdown. And Virgilio caught three of those passes for 177 yards and three touchdowns.

[player_tooltip player_id='1036733' first='Henry' last='Rivers'] QB and [player_tooltip player_id='1158021' first='Kevin' last='Boone'] WR, Berkeley

The Stags were able to make quick work of Wando, and the quarterback-receiver tandem had another big game. Rivers was 12-of-13 for 286 yards and four touchdowns. Boone, his favorite target, caught five passes for 154 yards and two scores. Rivers is now over 2,000 combined passing/rushing yards this year, while Boone is now over 600 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.

Travaris Walker, Darriel Porcher and [player_tooltip player_id='1592547' first='Brody' last='Tonon'] RBs, Philip Simmons

The job against Academic Magnet was pretty simple: Get in, get the W, move on. Walker, Porcher and Tonon did exactly what the Iron Horses needed. The trio of running backs combined for 148 yards and four touchdowns in limited snaps. Porcher had eight carries for 51 yards and a score. Tonon (pictured) had 57 yards and a touchdown on just two carries (in addition to five tackles, three tackles for loss and a fumble recovery on defense). And Walker wrapped it all up with three carries for 40 yards and two touchdowns. Philip Simmons will need more of that multi-player approach this week, because…

Montez Addison, Jeremiah Cleveland and Malyk Goodman Timberland

Playing against yet another run-based squad in Andrews, Addison, Cleveland and Goodman put up some solid ground production of their own. Cleveland finished with 93 yards on 13 carries while Addison finished with 59 yards and a score on 16 carries. Goodman, the team's quarterback, added 77 rushing yards and a touchdown to a 6-of-11 passing night that led to a touchdown and 86 yards.

Zachary Balog WR and [player_tooltip player_id='1592310' first='Quinn' last='Mahoney'] QB, Bishop England

With Beaufort stuffing the Bishops' rushing attack over and over, Mahoney had little choice but to take advantage of his opportunities. He finished 13-of-23 for 192 yards and two touchdowns as well as another 45 yards on the ground. Balog was responsible for six of those receptions, which he took for 100 yards and a touchdown. That was Balog's second straight 100-yard receiving game and third of the season.

It was another group project kind of week in the Lowcountry.
