The second edition of “In The Trenches With Deck” focuses on a group of offensive linemen I watched play in the Salina Central Mustangs season-opening win over city rival Salina South.

The Mustangs' offensive line was bigger and longer all across the front five, but the Cougar O-line is a squatty group that plays with excellent pad level.

Prep Redzone has Gibson ranked No. 44 overall in the class of 2025. He played left guard for the Mustangs against the Cougars. He has solid footwork and moves well. He delivers a strong first punch. He has an offer from Washburn University.

[player_tooltip player_id='401683' first='Kaden' last='Snyder'], OL, 6'6”, 255, Salina Central, ‘26

Snyder is currently ranked No. 3 overall in the Kansas Class of 2026. He got off to a rough start committing a couple of early penalties in the contest. He was impressed with how flexible he is for his size and how well he moves. He can wear down opposing defenders throughout the game. I can see what Division I coaches see in him. He has DI offers from the likes of Wisconsin, Arkansas, Kansas State, and Kansas.

[player_tooltip player_id='1425346' first='Zachary' last='Johnson'], OL, 6'5”, 215, Salina South, ‘25

Johnson is currently unranked by Prep Redzone, but I was impressed by his work. He is the biggest lineman on the Cougar offensive line. He played left tackle and is a solid pass protector. He does not yet have any college offers. I would recommend him to Division II, NAIA, and JUCO coaches.

[player_tooltip player_id='1425563' first='Simon' last='Flores'], OL, 5'11”, 245, Salina South, ‘27

Flores is just a pup but started at guard for the Cougars. He has strong legs and like the rest of the South line plays with solid pad level. He has the speed to get out and pull and I see him as a dangerous blocker on screens. He is currently unranked, but has already had a profile created for him and will be added during the next round of updates.
