6. [player_tooltip player_id='484293' first='Xzavior' last='Guess'], El Modena

Guess is one of the better dual threat quarterbacks in Southern California and had a big offseason. He was the quarterback MVP at the National Preps Showcase and a top five finisher at the Prep Redzone Combine Series. The lefty threw for 2014 yards with 12 touchdowns last season and just two interceptions. Guess also ran for a team-high 791 yards and 19 touchdowns. He recently committed to UC Davis.

7. [player_tooltip player_id='282761' first='Michael' last='Tollefson'], Tustin

Tollefson transferred to Tustin from JSerra and he began his career at San Juan Hills. In camp settings, it's easy to see why college coaches love Tollefson. His release is quick, his arm strength is next level and he is one of the better athletes in the state. For Tollefson, it's a matter of translating his obvious skills to the field when the pads come on. He has a fresh start at Tustin and is the best quarterback to play at Tustin in many years. Tollefson is committed to Arizona State.

8. [player_tooltip player_id='406660' first='John' last='Gazzaniga'], Santa Margarita

Gazzaniga is a legitimate 6-foot-7 and instantly made an impact when he transferred to Santa Margarita midseason in 2023. He's a smooth athlete for a guy with his height and he improved steadily as the season went on. Gazzaniga threw for 377 yards and four touchdowns in his first game at Santa Margarita, one day after being declared eligible to play. He is uncommitted but has an offer from Miami of Ohio.

9. [player_tooltip player_id='1158506' first='Holden' last='Nagin'], Yorba Linda

When you talk about quarterbacks who improved with more playing time, Nagin is the prototype. I saw him early in the season against Tesoro and he struggled, but improved greatly by the time league games came around. He threw for more than 2,200 yards and 30 TDs in his first season as a full-time starter. Nagin blended right in with top quarterbacks at the Elite 11 Regionals and did very well at the Prep Redzone Combine Series. He is a high-academic guy who was active on the camp circuit.

10. [player_tooltip player_id='406731' first='Draiden' last='Trudeau'], Mission Viejo

Trudeau splits time with a talented junior at Mission Viejo but would start at 90 percent of the schools in the area. He impressed me with his leadership skills at the Battle at the Beach tournament and is clearly the vocal leader of the team despite not playing every down. Trudeau made some impressive throws that day and the Diablos run smoothly with him under center.
