PRZPA Team Preview, Red Lion

<p><strong>Season Outlook: </strong>Red Lion went 4-6 the last two years and haven't had a winning season since 2020 in a Covid season when they went 5-2. They do bring back a good core group of players and they could win more than the 4 wins they had the last two years, but it could be difficult. </p>   <p><strong>Current Head Coach:</strong> Jesse Shay </p>   <p><strong>Top returning prospects for the 2024 season:</strong></p>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='920495' first='Sean' last='Tanner'] is a good offensive lineman in the 2025 class. He has great size (6'7 inches tall) and strength for the position. Tanner recently committed to Elon College to play College Football. Below is what I said about him earlier this year: </p>   <p>"<strong>[player_tooltip player_id='920495' first='Sean' last='Tanner']</strong><a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/sean-tanner/"></a> played right tackle for Red Lion last year. The first part that sticks out about his film is his size. He stands 6'7 inches tall and has long arms. When the edge pass pass rusher attacks Tanner he can keep them at bay with his long arms and big frame. He also has good feet and moves them well in pass protection. As a run blocker, he does a nice job of attacking defenders and then extending his reach to block them. He shows good coverage skills and does an excellent job of locking down receivers. He does a good job of staying hip-to-hip with receivers. Then when the ball is thrown in his direction he has outstanding ball skills. He gets his hands on many balls thrown in his direction because he has good coverage skills. He is also a good tackler, especially in the open field. Selby is a good player with excellent coverage skills. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/zyaire_selby/status/1720947217844846700 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='933073' first='Jackson' last='Harris'] played as an inside linebacker last year for Red Lion. He played at a high-level last year and was a tackling machine. He does a good job of reading a play and attacking downhill. He is an excellent tackler, that knows how to take proper angles when he makes tackles. He also shows a good ability to drop in pass coverage and get his hands on the ball when it is thrown. Harris is a good prospect who plays at a high level as a linebacker. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='606441' first='Mason' last='Hollingshead'] has limited film from the last two years, but projects as the starting quarterback for Red Lion this year. He is a good athlete who moves well, so he has the potential to be a dual-threat option for Red Lion. The ability to run and throw is a big part of his game, so I expect it to be incorporated more into Red Lion's plans this year. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/Mason_Holl12/status/1806304086817476773 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='606406' first='Jayden' last='Zielinski'] played wide receiver for Red Lion last year. He is a good wide receiver who does a nice job of making defenders miss in space. He also shows a good ability to break tackles and gain positive yards after he catches the ball. He is particularly good at making subtle moves against defenders to create separation when he runs routes. He also catches the ball well in between defenders. Zielinski should play defensive back this season and I can see him making a greater impact in the return game as well. He did a nice job of playing in space. He makes proper reads and deciphers the opposing team's offenses well. He does a good job of making reads and coming upfield to make plays when the ball is run in his direction. He also does a good job of dropping in coverage and making plays in the passing game. He is also an excellent tackler, especially in the open field. Clippinger is a good prospect at linebacker. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1520432' first='Giovanni' last='Flores'] played offensive tackle last year for Red Lion. He has good size (6'2" inches tall) and strength. He is good in the run game by locking up defensive linemen and driving them off the ball. His stance could use some improvement, but I expect it will get better going into his senior year. He also showed a good ability to move his feet when he was locked up with a defensive lineman. Flores has potential as an offensive lineman prospect. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1520434' first='Jeremiah' last='Morales'] played as a running back in spot duty for Red Lion last year. He showed a good burst through the hole and did a nice job being physical against bigger defenders. He is hard to bring down and shows good elusiveness. He also showed that he can catch the ball well out of the backfield. Finally, he showed the capability to block. He did a nice job blocking defensive players on the edge. Morales flashed some good skills and I expect he get more of an opportunity to play this season. </p>    <p><strong>Final Thoughts: </strong>Red Lion has struggled on the field lately, but they could be an improved team this year. They have the ingredients to improve their win/lose record and be a much better team. </p>
