We're just weeks away from Texas high school football kicking off, and I for one cannot wait! Teams are in the midst of training camp and depth charts are being built out as we speak. As we inch closer, today I wanted to look at which rising junior wide receivers are being slept on. These guys were stalwarts for their programs, yet I don't think they're getting the respect they deserve just yet. Look for them to take big strides this season and

[player_tooltip player_id='1462963' first='Xavier' last='Green'], 5'11" 160, The Colony

Green stood out in his first year playing wide receiver totalling 1,203 all-purpose yards and 10 touchdowns. He's got the speed to step on a defender's toes, he's smooth transitioning out of his cuts and can separate at the top of a route. He's got quick feet and hands against press, he can hold the line downfield on the nine route, and is extremely competitive going and getting the football. I think more Division One offers will be coming soon.

[player_tooltip player_id='1334346' first='Tyson' last='Davis'] 6'4" 195, Dallas HSAA

A long x receiver prospect who averaged 19.9 yards per catch and is a violent runner with the ball in his hands. Davis is strong as an ox and can hip-toss tacklers off of him, he's got excellent concentration through contested throws and can cause tacklers to pinball off of his lower-half. I do worry about the competition he played, but he himself did perform well whenever called upon.

Jackson Voris, 5'9" 175, Frisco

A smaller yet productive receiver that has shown versatility, body control and natural tracking ability. He's got stick 'em for hands, good speed to add a vertical presence over the top, and understands how to use a stem to eat up a defender's leverage. He's crafty and plays much bigger than his listed size.

Kade Kropholler, 5'11" 170, Fort Worth Christian

A sudden runner on the second level that can chip in added YAC. He's got great hands through contact, he knows how to find the holes in zone coverage and tempo down in them & is a decisive route runner that can pressure two high safeties. He was also a valuable asset at the safety position and showed solid range when the ball was in the air.

Timothy Sanchez, 5'9", N/A, Robstown

A smaller slot that shows no hesitation in venturing into the teeth of a defense and has impressive wiggle in space. He's quicker than he is fast, he gets friendly to his quarterback on the scramble drill, and is extremely slippery through tackle attempts. He's a fun kid to watch on tape that just goes out and makes big plays.

Chris Guidry, 6'2" 180, Brenham

Chirs does a good job of using his frame to box out a defender, he has the leaping ability to go up & high point the football and can easily track the go ball over the shoulder. He does a good job of shooting his hands late, he can adjust to back shoulder throws midflight, and has a calm, cool playing style that looks easy.

Kade Millington, 6'1" 175, Regents School of Austin

This kid catches just about everything and looks to get north & south immediately following a reception. His feet never chop churning as a ball carrier, he has the bend to dip below tackle attempts and he uses both his strength & quickness to defeat level two reroutes. This is a possession receiver who isn't afraid to get his hands dirty as a blocker as well.
