New Mexico features some very talented (and very BIG) defensive linemen for the 2024 season. Here are 10 more you need to know in Part 3 of a series.

[player_tooltip player_id='615431' first='Tristan' last='Caraveo'], West Mesa: Caraveo and Victor Sutherland will form a dynamic DL duo for the Mustangs this season. Last season, Caraveo had 46 tackles, 3.0 TFL and 3 QB hurries. He should surpass all those numbers in 2024.

[player_tooltip player_id='1266485' first='Landon' last='Casalino'], Manzano: The first impressive thing about Casalino is his size. Just a junior, he's already 6-foot-5, 270 pounds with good feet and hands. He should be one of the breakout players in the Albuquerque Metro Region in 2024.

Giovanni Gonzales, Clovis: The 6-foot-0, 200-pound Gonzales has been lauded for his pas rushing skills. Those were on display last season as he helped Clovis capture a district title.

[player_tooltip player_id='1155019' first='Ryan' last='Hunt'], St. Michael's: Few freshmen were better than the 6-foot-2, 190-pound Hunt last season as he helped lead the Horsemen to a Class 3A title. Hunt collected 55 tackles and 10 sacks (tying a single season school record). With three years left in his prep career, Hunt will only get better and better.

[player_tooltip player_id='1006736' first='Zachary' last='Perea'], Legacy Academy: Perea is flying under the radar because Class 2A Legacy Academy is entering its first season of 11-on-11 competition. Perea is incredibly strong, deadlifting over 500 pounds, with good speed and quickness. He's also a camp warrior.

[player_tooltip player_id='1137462' first='Luke' last='Sandoval'], Silver: Sandoval is a key piece on what should be a very good Silver DL. As a sophomore in 2023, he made 28 tackles, an encouraging start to his prep career. Silver aims for another deep run in the 4A playoffs.

[player_tooltip player_id='851890' first='Taye' last='Silversmith'], Miyamura: The 6-foot-2, 245-pound Silversmith is one of the top two-way standouts in the Four Corners. He's also an outstanding wrestler and rodeo cowboy. Silversmith was impressive at the Prep Redzone Combine in Grants in April, winning MVP honors at his position.

[player_tooltip player_id='613691' first='Taye' last='Smith'], Texico: Another player flying under the radar because Texico competes in Class 2A. But Smith has an offer from Eastern New Mexico as proof of his talents. He's 6-foot-2, 280 pounds and built like a tank. He was impressive in last November's 2A state championship game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1257331' first='Jonah' last='Waipa'], Capital: Northern New Mexico is blessed with some excellent defensive linemen for 2024 and Waipa is one of them. Physically, he's impressive with a 6-foot-5, 215-pound frame. And he's strong, deadlifting over 450 pounds. He was offered by the previous staff at NM Highlands.

[player_tooltip player_id='1266443' first='Daimian' last='Zamora'], Rio Rancho: Zamora, a junior, is one of the up-and-coming defensive linemen in the Albuquerque Metro Area. The Rams have high expectations for him this season. Zamora already has good size at 6-foot-1, 190 pounds and should only grow taller and stronger over the next two years playing for the Rams.
