Louisiana 2026 rankings update countdown: Nos. 40 to 31

Prep Redzone Louisiana will release its latest 2026 rankings this week, continuing its class-by-class updates process as the upcoming season approaches.   Leading up to the complete, 200-player list of rising seniors on Thursday, we will count down the top 50 in more detail. No. 40 [player_tooltip player_id='401985' first='Ty' last='Dominique'] — 6-3, 250 DL — St. Augustine   A highly ranked prospect in every round of Prep Redzone Louisiana rankings updates thus far, Dominique is one of a pair of Purple Knights defensive linemen in the top 40 with his long frame, explosive get-off and high motor.   No. 39 [player_tooltip player_id='1345269' first='Luke' last='Green'] — 6-1, 170 DB — Lafayette Christian   The first of a couple new debuts in this section of the rankings update, Green is a fast, physical and versatile defensive back with good size and a knack for making big plays whether on the back end of the defense, blitzing into the backfield or anywhere in between.   No. 38 [player_tooltip player_id='1345161' first='Hayden' last='Ray'] — 6-2, 245 TE — Live Oak   The Eagles' rising junior star debuts as one of the the highest ranked tight end prospects in the class — a big, thickly build athlete with the ability to play on the line on either side of the ball, but the athleticism and ball skills to be a balanced weapon at the position.   No. 37 [player_tooltip player_id='1237623' first='Maurice' last='Williams'] — 5-10, 155 DB — Edna Karr   The biggest riser in this round of rankings updates, the Cougars' quick, instinctive corner with great ball skills is now listed another 3 inches taller and 25 stronger than last season's roster and looking more the part of one of Louisiana's top rising junior cornerbacks.   No. 36 [player_tooltip player_id='710969' first='Gregory' last='Wilfred'] — 5-9, 165 WR — Destrehan   One of a trio of familiar weapons from southeast Louisiana in this section of the rankings countdown, Wilfred is a quick, sure-handed pass-catchers who consistently creates separation with his route-running and then makes the most of his opportunities for a loaded Destrehan receiving corps.   No. 35 [player_tooltip player_id='1237615' first='Dezyrian' last='Ellis'] — 6-2, 160 ATH — Franklin Parish   "Pook" earns a top-35 position in a second straight round of rankings updates after debuting earlier this year on the heels of a highly productive sophomore season as the Patriots' quarterback. His arm and overall potential at the position are notable, but his all-around athleticism as a receiver or defensive back will likely land him even higher-level college opportunities — particularly in the modern, transfer-heavy era of quarterback recruiting.   No. 34 [player_tooltip player_id='920611' first='Kaleb' last='Campbell'] — 6-7, 305 OL — Lafayette Christian   The Knights' big offensive lineman remains among the highest ranked prospects in another solid class in the position group. Campbell has a great frame and heavy, violent hands that helped pave the way for many of the team's explosive runs from his left guard position as a sophomore, whether to his side or using him to pull across.   No. 33 [player_tooltip player_id='740982' first='Chris' last='Addison'] — 6-2, 210 ATH — Franklin Parish   The aforementioned Ray tops the tight end category in this round of rankings updates, but Addison is in that conversation as well as another two-way standout on college radars as both a tight end and an edge rusher. He and Ellis mark a pair of Franklin Parish standouts in the top 35 of the class rankings for the second straight round of updates.   No. 32 [player_tooltip player_id='710978' first='Alvin' last='Celestin'] Jr. — 5-9, 155 ATH — Terrebonne   Continuing a string of smaller, but dynamic weapons from the River and Bayou Parishes in this range, Celestin is one of the most versatile and most explosive with his playmaking as a slot receiver, change-of-pace running back or defensive back and his array of impressive track marks that include a 10.80-second 100-meter, 21.85-second 200-meter and 49.16-second 400-meter.   No. 31 Jaden Carter — 5-9, 175 WR — Covenant Christian   The pass-catcher from the Bayou Parishes is one of the top prospects to watch in an impressive class of wide receivers in the state. After having to sit following a transfer, Carter had a strong offseason on the 7-on-7 circuit and appears poised for a big junior campaign ahead.
