The tight end position is such a valuable one in the game of football. It's hard to find prospects at the high school level that are not only good pass catchers, but also quality in-line blockers. They have to be willing to do the dirty work away from the football. The guys listed in this article are currently flying under the radar. As far as I can tell, they don't have any FBS offers at the moment. I think they're due for a big senior season and could see their stock rise.

Dominic Parrish, 6'4" 220, Coronado

Parrish accelerates out of his stance threatening safeties vertically. He runs with authority after the catch, barreling through arm tackle attempts. He uses his long arms to generate lockout on the breastplate and drive defenders off the ball. He's shown some wildcat potential using his size and strength in short-yardage situations.

Cade Bauer, 6'5" 230, Tompkins

A blocking tight end with exceptional striking and finishing ability. Bauer fires off the ball with his pads low and uses his size to overwhelm smaller defenders at the point of attack. His feet never stop chugging after initial contact, he stays hip to hip with his double-team partner and knows when to peel off & work to the second level.

Heger Davis, 6'7" 235, Strake Jesuit

Davis has elite size for the position and uses his body to post up defenders and go get the football. He's got outstanding body control for a big man & can easily adjust for back-shoulder throws. He's a major weapon in the red area and can drop down & go get the football where only he can get it. I'd like to see more of what he can do as a blocker, as he's more than proven enough as a pass catcher.

[player_tooltip player_id='688628' first='Tripp' last='Wright'] 6'2" 220, Canyon

From a height standpoint, Tripp is undersized, however, he's brilliant after the catch. He's got good speed for the position, terrific concentration in traffic, and is like a bull through contact. He's a physical blocker who takes pride in finishing, he uses deception to sneak behind defenders on play action and can work all three levels of the field. A complete tight end with a lot of upside.

[player_tooltip player_id='808120' first='Preston' last='Baker'], 6'3" 215, Smithson Valley

Baker is another prospect who finds ways to sneak behind coverage, he's comfortable working the middle of the field and is a natural hands catcher who doesn't fight the football. He too needs to show more as a blocker, but I think he could develop nicely at the next level.
