I got the pleasure of tagging along this Summer with the guys from TeamFyn Sports and NwGaFootball on their Summer Combine Series. Below are a few of the Dade County Wolverines that stood out in the metric categories and a review of their 2023 film.

Carter Christiansen - (2025 Safety/LB)

The 6'0 Strong Safety had an outstanding day in the testing events. He ran a 4.59 laser timed 40, one of only 3 of the 167 participants on the Week to crack the 4.60 mark on the laser. He put up a Top 10 overall 3-Cone time of 4.50 and is 5th/167 in the broad jump at 9'4. The multisport Wolverine is one of the overall most impressive athletes in the Summer Combine Series.

On the field last season he accounted for 94 TT, 77 of those solo, with 19 pass deflections and an INT. He had a season high 11 solo tackles in the Wolverines opening playoff game vs Mt. Pisgah. Christiansen is still a little raw on the field but gets it done with his intensity and athleticism. He gets downhill fast and has no problem laying the lumber on somebody. I hear he may move to LB this Fall but wherever he lines up this Fall he will be a playmaker.

Demetrius Walker - (2025 ATH)

The 5'10 150 ATH was 2nd on the team in the 40 yard dash. He ranked 7th in the 3-cone but if the grass had not been wet he would have challenged for the top spot, his feet kept slipping because he was turning so quick. He was right at the 9'0 mark on the Broad Jump placing him 3rd on the Wolverines.

Quick footed WR that can get vertical on you fast. He had 22 catches last season for a total of 307 yards and 5 TDs. Gave the fans in Trenton a taste of what is to come by scoring on a long TD reception in the Spring game. I really liked his competitiveness at the event and you could tell he had leadership qualities. Big Senior Season on tap and one to add to your radar.

Braydan Jones (2025 WR)

The 6'1 165 WR will be a big target downfield for the Wolverines this Fall. Long athletic guy that put up the 3rd fastest time on the team in the 40 and had a good broad jump of 9'3.

Jones caught 14 passes for 175 yards and 2 TDs in 2023 with a game high 2 for 55 and a TD in a 55-13 win over North Sand Mountain. Fearless receiver that will catch the ball in traffic. Has the speed and physicality to get YAC. Jones figures to be a big part of the Dade Co offense in ‘24.

Bryson Shrader (2025 QB)

The 6'1 rising Senior QB had a consistent day at the event, placing in the Top 4 on the the team in all 3 events. Good pocket presence and makes accurate downfield throws. Has enough athleticism to buy himself some time with his feet if he feels pressure.

He had a successful Junior season throwing for over 1300 yards and leading the Wolverines to the 2nd Round of the playoffs. We would like to see him increase his TD/INT ratio this Fall, 15/11 last year, confident kid that likes to thread the needle.

Other Notables:

H. Garmany ('26 QB/DB): Showed good agility in the 3-Cone. Had limited touches last season but figures to play a bigger role this Fall.

Evan Avans ('26 ATH): Solid built kid that showed some competitiveness, stepping in and taking extra reps. Was one of only a few guys to crack the 5.0 mark on the laser 40. Coaches raved about this guy and is one to keep an eye on this Fall.

Gabriel Yarbrough (2025 OL/DL)

The big guy, 240 pounder, showed good dexterity in the 3-Cone. He put up a 5.10 which is one of the best overall times for the 225+ guys on the week. Multisport guy that wrestles in the offseason. Excels off the field in the weight room (275 PC) and the classroom (4.0 GPA)
