As college camps and showcases provide rising prospects the chance to become top recruiters, National Scout Drew Johnson has been on the move to track down those who deserve the recognition for their play. Let's get into some of the top performers from this spring/summer who have locked in notable offers.

[player_tooltip player_id='1581905' first='Jadarius' last='Dobie'] | RB | 2026 | Lakeland | @dobie_jadarius

Recent offers: FIU, UNLV, Western Michigan

My top RB standout of the week so far has been Dobie who seems to have added 15 pounds to his frame. Impressive spring game performance against a tough Jesuit defense likely landed an FIU offer today. He was a productive back for the Dreadnaughts who have about 2-3 other Division I backs on the roster, not including Dobie. You wouldn't know that looking at the stats because he finished near the top. He showed off his ability to run crisp routes out of the backfield and finish plays with good hands.

Kavon McKinney | DB | 2025 | Lakeland | @KavonMckinney

Recent offers: USF, EKU, Rhode Island

This kid has been one of the fastest-growing names in the Polk County area because of his immense upside to make an impact at the defensive back position. McKinney has a long frame at 6-1, 165-pound with a triple jump, 110 hurdles, and 4x relay track experience. That's what college coaches are looking for in next level athletes. Really impressive spring for this kid who is positioning himself for college interest.

Joshod Hampton | 2025 | DB | Bartow | @Joshod3

Recent offers: FIU, FAU, EKU

We've said it here many times recently but this kid is on the rise. Hampton is one of the better cover corners in the county who understands technique and how to lock down his side of the field. He's bringing out that DOG mentality more and more where I'd expect him to rack up some tackles to go with his potential high INT numbers. Look out for Hampton to continue rising folks.

[player_tooltip player_id='827410' first='Donta' last='Jenkins'] | DE | Class of 2025 | Plant City | @dontaLjenkins

Recent offers: Kansas, FIU, UTMartin

With a recent move over to Lakeland High School, Jenkins for sure has made some noise in the city. The talented defensive end product led Plant City in sacks during his sophomore season and was listed on the 4M All-State Team. Jenkins has developed into one of the top defensive prospects in the hot bead Polk County region because of his versatility to be plug-and-play on the defensive line. He has decent strength combined with a quick first step which he uses to cause havoc in the backfield. Look out for him to continue to develop and see an uptick in his recruitment.

Jerry Thomas | WR | 2026 | Lakeland | @Showtime2swift

Recent offers: EKU

Thomas was no doubt the other DOG wide receiver standout on the bus who brings that Florida energy when he takes the field. He's been one of the more underrated kids in the Polk area but will have the chance to show college coaches he can produce throughout the season. He's been the best looking WR at most of the camps so far. He earned an EKU offer after dominating their camp while showing off his 6-3 frame, solid route running, and growing catch radius.

Cassidy Ervin | 2026 | WR | Winter Haven | @CassidyErvinn

This kid just continues to develop elite route running skills and the confidence to execute against any competition. As noted, Ervin is an electric athlete that can be used all over the field. He should rack up yards in the slot position and in screen pass / end around offensive sets. One of the better and quicker rising prospects in the area who deserves the recognition.

De'Coryian Stanley | 2025 | LB | Bartow @DeCoryianS

Recent offers: Alcorn, EKU, FIU

The head hunter and sure tackler for the Bartow defense will be rising senior linebacker DeCoryian Stanley. He just picked up a deserved D1 offer from Albany. He's a physical player with a decent frame and IQ to make plays at the position. I came to Bartow's practice with a question mark for the LBs but left impressed with Stanley's ability to be a leader in the middle of the defense.

Charles Calhoun | RB/LB | 2027 | Auburndale | @4_wayyyzz

Looks like this kid will be the bell cow for the Bloodhounds offense. Calhoun is a physical 2027 prospect with Dog mentality for the workload that'll come with the position this season. He has the size to be a blocking component as well but look for him to get between the tackles for hard-nose running.

[player_tooltip player_id='1258693' first='Ethan' last='Brous'] | 2026 | QB | Bartow | @d1_e_9

Brous has been on the grind this offseason with notable performances at a few college camps. He's steadily developing the skill sets and confidence to lead a program. I've been impressed with his fearlessness to compete and grow at the QB position. Another solid passer on the Bartow roster who helps push the room to stay hungry.

[player_tooltip player_id='1022090' first='Parker' last='Peacock'] | OL | 2025 | Lakeland Christian | @parkerpeacock52

Peacock is a solid trench monster residing in Polk County who has picked up a couple offers this offseason with a few notable camp performances. This kid has great technique, Dog mentality, and versatility needed to move around the offensive line. Excited to see his output as we close out summer and head into the fall period.

Zephaniah Rogers | OLB | 2026 | Lakeland | @ZephaniahRoger5

Rogers is another transfer who will bolster the Lakeland Dreadnaughts growing list of new faces. This kid is one of the top linebacker prospects in the county who will have a lot more eyes on him this season.
