June 2024 Update: 2027 New Additions

The class of 2027 takes center stage in this update. Prep Redzone Arkansas updates the prospect rankings several times a year. Introducing new additions to the prospect rankings is always one of my favorite articles to write. In this article, we are going to highlight several new additions to the rankings to watch out for over the next few seasons.   [player_tooltip player_id='1196164' first='Montrell' last='Thompson']-Quarterback-Little Rock Parkview-6'2” 160-Pounds   [player_tooltip player_id='1196164' first='Montrell' last='Thompson'] is a quarterback that can cause plenty of headaches for opposing defensive coordinators. Thompson uses his mobility well to buy time in and out of the pocket. He uses his legs well to pick up yardage on the ground when needed to extend the drive. Meanwhile, he is a quarterback that throws an accurate football. Thompson does a great job of throwing his wide receivers open. He is a player to watch out for over the next couple of seasons.   [player_tooltip player_id='1219120' first='Dane' last='Tedford']-Defensive Line-Ozark-6'6” 270-Pounds   [player_tooltip player_id='1219120' first='Dane' last='Tedford'] is a defensive lineman that has no trouble opening eyes coming off of the line of scrimmage. He is a quick defensive lineman that can defeat blocks and disrupt the opposing offensive backfield. Tedford has a good mix of quickness and power. He uses his hands well to get away from blocks and drive the opposing pass blocker into the offensive backfield. Tedford is a prospect to watch out for over the next few seasons for Ozark.   [player_tooltip player_id='1223179' first='Bryson' last='Thompson']-Wide Receiver-Searcy-5'9” 160-Pounds   The Searcy wide receiver has no trouble stretching the field from a vertical perspective using his speed. Thompson uses his quickness and route running to create separation from opposing defensive backs. He has the ability to turn a short gain into an explosive one in the blink of an eye. Thompson is a prospect that can be used all over the field. I expect Thompson to have a strong season in 2024. He is a player to watch out for over the next few seasons for Searcy.   [player_tooltip player_id='1278415' first='Will' last='Caston']-Linebacker-Fayetteville-6'2” 175-Pounds   [player_tooltip player_id='1278415' first='Will' last='Caston'] is another Fayetteville linebacker that will open some eyes over the next couple of years. Caston reads the play well and puts himself in position to defend against the run as well as the pass. He does an impressive job of getting away from blocks and hauling down the ball carrier. Caston has the speed to drop back into pass coverage and cause problems for the opponent's passing attack. He has had strong camps over the past few weeks and I expect him to have an impressive 2024 season.   [player_tooltip player_id='1223230' first='Cason' last='Roten']-Linebacker-Elkins-5'10” 165-Pounds   [player_tooltip player_id='1223230' first='Cason' last='Roten'] is a linebacker that has opened plenty of eyes this offseason. He has the quickness to disrupt both the running and passing attacks of the opponent. Roten gets away from blocks and hauls down the ball carrier. He does a nice job of reading and reacting to the play. Roten is a prospect that has built good momentum this offseason and is a player to watch out for over the next couple of seasons for Elkins.
