Ethan Houser – ATH – Buford
The Buford Wolves produce high-caliber players on a yearly basis, and they are locked and loaded with promising talent in the 2027 class. One of their best young players is Houser, a playmaking wide receiver/defensive back with outstanding ball skills. While he may not have made an impact at the varsity level last year as a freshman, it’s clear he’s bound for a massive sophomore season in 2024. He can run, jump, catch, and make plays all over the field. He’s an easy weapon as a receiver with his ability to catch and score, but his speed, natural athleticism, and promising defensive back play could lead him to being one of the state’s top safety prospects down the road. He brings outstanding size for his age at 6-foot-1 180-pounds and his recruitment is taking off right now with recent offers from Alabama, Florida, and Maryland. He’s absolutely a prospect to know about in 2024.
George Lamons Jr. – ATH – Brooks County
A tremendous young talent and one of the top 2027 wide receivers in Georgia right now, this South Georgia pass-catcher showed outstanding big-play ability due to his big 6-foot-4 210-pound frame and natural hands. He runs like a deer who can pick up yards in a hurry, allowing him to sneak past defensive backs down the field. He tracks the ball well in the air and will win most of the jump-ball opportunities that come his way. He’s lethal in the red-zone who can leap and snatch the football over smaller defenders. He checks a lot of boxes as a dynamic receiver prospect who showed last year that he’s able to make big plays. Even as a freshman, Lamons Jr. put the state on notice as one of the very best receivers in the area. His best football is way ahead of him, and if he continues to work on his route-tree and can create separation on a consistent basis, more offers are coming his way. He’s had a big month on the recruiting trail, adding new offers from Tennessee and Louisville.

An impressive young defender from Augusta, Wuerth played more like an experienced veteran last year and lit up the stat sheet, making an incredible 139 tackles, 36 TFLs, and 14 sacks in just his first high school season. At 6-foot-2 240-pounds, Wuerth showed explosiveness off the EDGE with plenty of raw strength. He fires off the snap with ease and lived in the backfield last fall. He sheds blocks consistently, shows a great motor, and can attack the quarterback as well stops the run. His recruitment is on the rise, and he added a new offer this month from the in-state Georgia Southern Eagles. He’s big, strong, productive, and will only get better and better throughout his career. He holds the edge against the run, plays with good leverage, and runs well with his size. He dominated as a freshman, and he’ll look to do the same in year two next fall.
