I highlighted the defensive linemen I thought stood out, and now, I turn my gaze to the other side of the ball – the offensive linemen. Here are the defensive linemen who impressed me during the one-on-one portion of the afternoon.
Selected as the offensive line MVP for the day, Lund demonstrated good footwork and upper body strength, stoning an outside rush. Then, he stuffed an inside rush with low hips and good upper-body strength. His low hips and leg strength allowed him to anchor down to stone an inside rush. He showed quick feet when he stuffed a nice pass-rush move. Late in the day, he put on a show by first putting his man on the ground and then completely stuffing his pass rusher three times in a row.
First, Kuehn showed good footwork to stay in front of a defender. Then, he showed solid footwork and work with his hands to recover after getting out of position. Kuehn showed low hips and lower body strength, stopping a bull rush by anchoring down with his lower body. His footwork and upper-body strength then held off two more bull rushes as he dropped his hips. Kuehn used good feet on another rep to stay with a pass rusher. He shut down an inside move and then stoned a bull rush that turned into a swim move. Late in the day, he stuffed three straight pass rushers.
