Continue ReadingCegep leagues in Quebec have long been producing talent that plays at the next level. With some big-name defensive linemen from Cegep D1 headed to major NCAA schools American schools will continue to have eyes on the area. In a league that featured 6 passers last year that eclipsed 1,000 yards, we will look at some of the top returning targets in the league. With some new quarterbacks in play for multiple D1 Cegep schools these WR prospects will be relied on heavily by their teams to build off of strong play through the air last season.
Alex Bezeau Alex Bezeau 5’8″ | 165 lbs | ATH Limoilou | 2025 State CAD was a star with the ball in his hands for Limoilou and is one of the most dangerous kick and punt returners in all of Canada. Super versatile with his ability with the ball in his hands Bezeau is used as an offensive weapon featured on screens, sweeps, and reverses, and also shows the ability to create separation down the field as a route runner. Bezeau has good change of direction but his speed and vision with the ball are a big reason he can make so many plays. He finds open space and attacks it with burst and speed that allows him to turn the corners on defenders. While he has a ton of tape as a returner, I would expect Bezeau to expand on his 700+ return yards and continue to make plays in the slot for Limoilou.
Felix Gagnon Felix Gagnon 5’8″ | 180 lbs | WR Saint-Jean | 2025 CAD was extremely productive for Saint-Jean this season with 525 receiving yards on just 25 receptions. Including top receivers with over 20 catches Gagnon led that group with 21 yards per catch showing that he can stretch the field. Gagnon will return with his running mate at WR Nathan Carignan Nathan Carignan 6’2″ | 200 lbs | WR Saint-Jean | 2025 State CAD who was featured in this article highlighting top Quebec WR prospects. Gagnon will also return with leading passer from Cegep D1 Olivier Terroux Olivier Terroux 6’3″ | 205 lbs | QB Saint-Jean | 2025 State CAD . Gagnon is a smaller target but he understands how to get open. He can find soft spots in zones and does a good job of adjusting the ball in the air. Gagnon is a part of a strong returning group of skill players but I would expect another step forward for the WR/SB for Saint-Jean.
Olivier Michaud Olivier Michaud 6’2″ | 180 lbs | WR Notre-Dame de Foy | 2025 State CAD will be Notre-Dame-De-Foy’s top returning WR prospect and the big target (6’2) has the tape that makes you confident in his ability to take over as the top receiver. Michaud has a big catch radius and does a good job utilizing his hands away from his body to secure the ball. Michaud is a solid route runner using his body and his size to often create leverage to get open. Additionally, Michaud has a good understanding of what to do when the quarterback is out of the pocket drifting into open space. Michaud is an intriguing prospect who can be a dangerous threat in Cegep D1 especially if he can develop the ability to create separation down the field and become a vertical threat.
Mathis Bouchard Mathis Bouchard 5’7″ | 170 lbs | WR Limoilou | 2025 State CAD , at 5’7 170 is a speedy WR/SB who can impact the game in several different ways. Last season for Limoilou Bouchard was their leading receiver, albeit of a large WR group which returns many this year. Bouchard with the ball in his hands is dangerous after the catch, or handoff to just showcase his versatility. Bouchard is a talented route runner in the short and intermediate areas of the field where his quickness, change of direction, and burst when he catches and turns up field with the ball make him hard to cover and hard to bring down after he makes a catch. Bouchard will have a new QB this year alongside his teammates who make up one of the best WR rooms in Canada. Expect a lot of the Limoilou offense to ran through Bouchard and his ability to make plays with the ball.
Another Limoilou playmaker, Xavier Beaudoin Xavier Beaudoin 5’10” | 185 lbs | WR Limoilou | 2025 State CAD led the team in receptions this past year and consistently showcased why he was one of the most reliable WR/SB in Cegep D1. Beaudoin does a great job of adjusting to and tracking the ball down the field. A lot of his reps come in the middle of the field 10+ yards past the LOS and he often is forced to make catches in traffic. He has good hands and consistently showcases the ability to utilize his body positioning to keep defenders from breaking up passes at the catch point. Beaudoin is solid after the catch with a smooth run upfield and a hard running style but his best work is creating separation and his reliable hands over the middle. Beaudoin has the most complete highlight tape available of any of the talented Limoilou receivers that were featured in this article.
