I was locked in to the 15U division and will have several team reports, featuring their top performers this week. We’re continuing the coverage today with a look at the Rockhoppers squad, made up of standouts from the New England area.
Christopher Lefevvre – 2027 Athlete
In the first game of the tournament, 2027 athlete Christopher Lefevvre really stood out to us from start to finish. First off, we thought that Lefevvre was going to end up sitting out on Saturday because he came up with a cramp in that first game. But he battled through that and was able to finish strong on both sides of the ball. Offensively, Lefevvre helped set the tone with some big plays on that side of the ball. He made some tough catches down the field but then dealt with the cramping. But he was able to come back in the game late and thats when he came up with an interception on the defensive side of the ball.
Noah Pierre-Louis – 2026 Quarterback
One thing that really impressed us about the Rockhoppers this weekend was the quarterback position. They played two quarterbacks throughout the tournament and in the first game of the tourney, 2026 signal caller Noah Pierre-Louis had a really strong start. Louis put the ball where it needed to be and it was on a rope. He made several tough throws in the first game of the tournament and what really impressed was how those tough throws looked easy at times. The 2026 quarterback is a name to watch with how accurate he is with the football and how much he takes care of the football.
Paul McGrath – 2027 Tight End
In addition to Lefevvre, another 2027 prospect that looked the part physically was tight end Paul McGrath and he was a star on Sunday. We were waiting for McGrath to use his size at the tight end position to make a big play in the red zone and it came in bracket play. In the first round, they played an Above 9 team that beat them in pool play Saturday. Time was running out and the Rockhoppers were trailing. As time expired, McGrath found his way into the end zone and made the game-tying touchdown reception. They would convert on the next play and move on. McGrath had one of the more clutch plays on Sunday.
Zavonte Walker Zavonte Walker 5'11" | 150 lbs | ATH Westborough | 2027 New E – 2027 Wide Receiver/Defensive Back
And our final prospect from the Rockhoppers that impressed might have been the best overall athlete from this team that we watched. 2027 wide receiver and defensive back Zavonte Walker Zavonte Walker 5'11" | 150 lbs | ATH Westborough | 2027 New E immediately caught our eye in the first game of the day. He made a fantastic touchdown reception on the first possession of the game as he dove into the end zone with the ball. Walker is long and athletic and he also looked the part on the defensive side of the ball at cornerback. We watched Walker go to work at wide receiver and he is very quick off the line with a variety of moves to create instant separation from defenders.
