Leading Single-A Rushers In The 2025 Class

Vernon</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of the most explosive and elusive players across the Single-A classification, Warshaw is coming off a dominant 2023 season where he showed outstanding speed, change of direction, and big play ability. He has terrific feet that allow him to stop and make defenders look silly. He runs with impressive vision, burst, and balance. If you want to get this young man to the ground, you better wrap him up tight. This is a sleeper back who can slip through tackles with ease, and then turn on the jets on the way to the end-zone. He was a scoring machine last year and lit up the stat sheet, rushing for an eye-opening 1,590 yards and 16 touchdowns. He carried the ball 232 times and still managed to rush for just under seven yards per carry. He rushed for at least 100 yards in every game but three, with his best game coming against St. Francis when he took off for 257 yards and four touchdowns. Look for those numbers to possibly increase even more as a senior this fall.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1637234' first='Jacari' last='Barnett'] – Elbert County</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A smaller back with impressive feet and a shifty style of play, this small-town back is an electric runner and one of the top returning Single-A backs heading into the 2024 season. At 5-foot-10 175-pounds, Barnett does a great job of eluding defenders in the open field, allowing him to take off for big gains. This Elbert County back ran wild on defenses consistently last fall, rushing for an impressive 1,478 yards and 20 touchdowns in 13 games. This underrated back flashed above-average vision, acceleration, vision, and the ability to run away from defenders down the field. He reached the 100-yard mark 8 times last year while finding the endzone in every game but two. He's not a big, bruising type of back, but he was extremely durable and finished the season strong, scoring a combined 7 touchdowns on the ground over the final three games of the season. He's a sleeper back on the rise who is bound for a giant senior season in 2024. He's one of the top backs in the area, and some possible D1 interest could come his way this summer.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Travion Richardson – Bacon County</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>An explosive runner flying under the radar in Southeast Georgia, Richardson is one of the top running backs in the area and proved it on a weekly basis last fall as a junior. A strong overall athlete who hits the hole hard and brings plenty of speed, Richardson may not be the biggest back, but he runs hard and runs with a purpose. He can fly past defenders and is looking to score every time he has the ball. He gets to the perimeter consistently and does a great job of running with balance down the sidelines. As a junior this past season, this small-town running back took off 115 times for an impressive 990 yards and 11 touchdowns, averaging an excellent 8.6 yards per carry. He's tough to stop and went over the 100-yard mark in 8 of his 9 games this season. He also scored a touchdown in every game but two. IF he continues to add good weight and trains hard over the next several months, this Bacon County back could light up the stat sheet in a big way this fall.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
