Here is a look at five athletes from the Kansas City metro area who have entered the rankings for the first time.

[player_tooltip player_id='1213993' first='Harper' last='Engel'], DL, 6'4”, 250, Shawnee Mission Northwest

Engel debuts in the rankings at No. 281 overall. The Cougar defensive lineman has a quick first step and delivers a quick first blow. He has back-to-back seasons with forty-plus tackles. Last season he finished with 42 total tackles and six resulted in lost yardage. He has also played some tight end for Shawnee Mission Northwest.

[player_tooltip player_id='1123757' first='Tevyn' last='Gasaway'], ATH, 6'3”, 180, Olathe West

Gasaway enters the rankings for the first time at No. 283. He is a speedy athlete whose skill sets make him an attractive recruit. He can impact a game on offense, defense, or special teams. He made 30 catches last season for 219 yards and rushed for 84 yards. He can return kicks and he can make tackles on coverage teams. I see him as a future NAIA athlete.

[player_tooltip player_id='1217913' first='Jonty' last='Harris-Webster'], DL, 6'1”, 240, Shawnee Mission Northwest

A second Shawnee Mission Northwest athlete cracked the rankings for the first time. Harris-Webster is a disciplined defensive end who is currently ranked No. 291. He is a strong defensive end who knows how to use leverage to rush the quarterback. He also does a nice job of setting the edge defensively and understands when he has to keep outside containment.

[player_tooltip player_id='1217910' first='Traven' last='Niehues'], OL, 6'2”, 275, Blue Valley Northwest

College coaches looking for a center to captain their offensive line should give Niehues a look. The Blue Valley Northwest Huskie debuts in the No. 318 position. He is an athlete who should move up the rankings with a solid combine season and senior year. He has a quick snap and is equally effective as a run-blocker and pass-protector.

[player_tooltip player_id='1217915' first='Carter' last='Gooding'], WR, 6'1”, 175, Olathe East

Gooding is a solid two-sport prospect in football and basketball. He finished his junior season with 35 receptions for 532 yards. He is a solid route runner who can move the chains. He scored six touchdowns for the Hawks during his junior season. Prep Redzone has him ranked at No. 322 overall.
