Prep Redzone Louisiana's spring updates process wraps up this week with the first official rankings for the 2027 class, on the heels of the group's freshman seasons.

Leading up to the complete, 75-player list on Monday, we will count down the top 30 in more detail.

And make sure to check back following the release for additional features and notes on the cohort, including a looks at an elite set of young quarterbacks and other prospects to monitor as we see more of them leading up to their sophomore year.

No. 30 [player_tooltip player_id='739753' first='Landon' last='Johnson'] — 6-0, 165 ATH — Madison Prep

The Chargers' young standout is one of a couple quarterback/athlete prospects who arrived to their respective high schools already surrounded by high expectations. Landon is the younger brother and heir-apparent to the program's veteran quarterback and leader and in the meantime a notable target for the older Tylan, as well as a rangy defensive back with good ball skills on the other side.

No. 29 [player_tooltip player_id='1250288' first='Rylan' last='James'] — 5-8, 180 RB — Loranger

One of the handful or so most productive prospects in the class this past fall as a freshman, the Wolves' running back racked up more than 1,700 yards and 18 touchdowns with an already-solid build and a highlight reel full of long breakaway scores.

No. 28 [player_tooltip player_id='1250286' first='Braylen' last='Taylor'] — 5-9, 150 WR — Amite

The Warriors' pass-catcher and return man is one of the fastest prospects in the class early on in the group's development with consistent impressive 40-yard dash times in multiple college camp showings the past couple years — unsurprisingly for a young athlete in Tangipahoa Parish with former Kentwood and LSU star and current NFL receiver Trey Palmer among the older players he's grown up watching.

No. 27 [player_tooltip player_id='1250283' first='Trikoby' last='Rheams'] — 5-9, 160 WR — Zachary

Among the next round of young playmakers to know for the perennial power Broncos, Rheams is another fluid and speedy athlete with a track background and good ball skills. He has experience and confidence playing on either side of the ball, but looks more likely to project as a receiver — though Zachary has a recent track record of top receivers who ultimately transitioned to safety at the next level.

No. 26 [player_tooltip player_id='406748' first='Franky' last='Frank Jr.'] — 5-10, 160 DB/ATH — Cecilia

Some of the Bulldogs' upperclassman leaders have become well-known names during the program's run back to its first state championship game since 1995, but Frank is among the younger names to know who was already an impact player this fall and is among the promising prospects in Louisiana's strong 2027 class of defensive backs. Frank is a long, lean athlete with great instincts and ball skills and — listed 10 pounds bigger than last summer's watch list — seems to look taller and stronger each time out.

No. 25 [player_tooltip player_id='942208' first='Mason' last='Moore'] — 5-10, 160 DB — Central (Baton Rouge)

The versatile athlete had a great three-phase freshman campaign this fall at Parkview Baptist with heavy reps at running back and cornerback, then excelled as a ballhawking safety with some visible edge this spring 7-on-7 season in opportunities with the Louisiana Bootleggers' 15U national team against high-level competition around the southeast.

No. 24 [player_tooltip player_id='934563' first='Devin' last='Lavalais'] — 5-11, 165 ATH — Marksville

"King Lavalais" has garnered high expectations and high touting from an early age and consistently stepped up thus far, including varsity starting opportunities as an eighth-grade quarterback and a leading role as a freshman this spring on the school's first basketball state championship team. The Tigers' standout is a name to know among the state's impressive young quarterback class, but also boasts the athleticism and versatility to potentially develop into a high-level prospect at multiple positions.

No. 23 [player_tooltip player_id='423247' first='Dylan' last='Henry'] — 5-11, 155 DB — Mandeville

The first of another pair of Bootleggers 7v7 teammates, Henry is a tall, physical and versatile standout who plays both ways for his Skippers, but looks early on most likely to project as a safety at the next level. Like several of Louisiana's top 2027 prospects, he has grown up playing with older athletes and shows the intelligence, competitiveness and confidence that comes from that experience.

No. 22 [player_tooltip player_id='463125' first='Savoy' last='Guidry'] — 5-10, 150 DB — Holy Cross

Guidry is another long, wiry-strong defensive back with the versatility to play corner or safety and strong instincts and ball skills to make well-timed and even occasionally acrobatic plays in the air. As mentioned with other prospects here, he plays and carries himself with a level of maturity and work ethic that comes with his notable experience and competition levels already at this early stage.

No. 21 [player_tooltip player_id='1251692' first='Ronald' last='Cash'] — 5-11, 140 WR — De La Salle

We haven't seen the Cavaliers' speedy young receiver as much in-person yet as most of the other highly ranked prospects on this list, but the measurables — including a listed 4.44-second 40-yard dash with his height and length — and early film from the fall and offseason workouts and 7-on-7 are among the most intriguing in the class.
