Football North consistently sends an abundance of players to NCAA Division One schools year after year. The class of 2025 is no different as they have standout skill position players and a few standout linemen in the class of 2025.
Dejan Guzina Dejan Guzina 6’7″ | 345 lbs | OL Clarkson Football North | 2025 State CAD , who recently committed to Football North for the 2025 season after playing at Seaquam Secondary, is a powerhouse on the offensive line. Standing at 6’7″ and weighing 345 pounds, Dejan dominates in the run game, consistently opening up substantial holes for his running back. Excelling primarily in a zone run scheme thanks to his impressive mobility, he also thrives in gap scheme runs, quickly advancing to the second level. In pass protection, Dejan’s lateral movement is exceptional for his size. However, he could benefit from a more vertical approach in his pass set to establish a stronger anchor, as his current tendency towards horizontal sets sometimes leads to overreaching and allows defensive ends to go by him. As the top offensive lineman in Western Canada last season, and now with Football North, Dejan’s physical prowess and game footage make a compelling case for multiple Division One FBS offers.

Tamarley Smith stands out as one of Canada’s premier offensive linemen. At 6’6″ and 295 pounds, Smith dominates as an offensive guard at the high school level, showcasing remarkable movement ability in the run game and proficiency in pass protection. Operating primarily in a gap scheme run game, Smith excels as a pulling guard, seamlessly switching between left and right guard positions as needed. His quickness in getting out in front of the play and engaging defensive linemen at the correct angles allows him to open substantial holes for his running back. In pass protection, his strength enables him to anchor down and maintain his position, effectively occupying space in the offensive line’s interior. Smith’s movement ability suggests he would also thrive in a zone run scheme, and his size indicates potential as an offensive tackle. As a highly-regarded offensive line prospect from Canada with multiple Division One offers, Smith has committed to play for Eastern Michigan.

At 6’4″ and 330 pounds, Miller primarily plays as an offensive guard. Despite not having great length, his play strength is outstanding. In the run game, Miller’s remarkable strength and agility allow him to excel in both gap and zone schemes. He is adept at gaining the right leverage against defensive linemen and displays quick mobility to engage linebackers from the second level. In pass protection, Miller demonstrates a patient pass set, enabling him to drop an anchor and leverage his strength effectively. Lucas Shannon Lucas Shannon 5’10” | 195 lbs | RB Clarkson Football North | 2025 State CAD , having recently pledged to play for Football North after a stellar tenure at Seaquam Secondary in British Columbia, is a powerhouse running back. He concluded his season with a province-leading 2000+ scrimmage yards. Standing at 5’11” and weighing 190lb, Lucas is versatile, capable of playing as a receiver and executing receiver routes out of the backfield. His primarily played in a zone run scheme, where he excelled, rushing for over 1300 yards in just 6 games. Lucas regularly sheds tackles with his formidable lower body strength and determination to gain extra yards every play. His field vision is sharp, adept at finding and exploiting the open holes in the defense. While not the fastest in open field, clocking a 4.7s forty-yard dash, his intelligence and skill make him an asset in pass protection and a promising special teams starter at the next level. Lucas has the potential to develop into an every down back at the Division One level if he can improve his long speed.

Shane Keyes Wilson
Shane Keyes Wilson
Shane Keyes Wilson stands out as a premier defensive athlete prospect, a rarity in Canada. Throughout his junior season, Wilson has demonstrated his versatility by playing at three defensive levels, thanks to his remarkable combination of speed and strength. With a 4.6-second forty-yard dash and the power to attack offensive linemen during blitzes, Wilson shines. Despite his experience across the defense, I envision him as a safety in the future because of his proficiency in coverage and his exceptional ability to blitz with speed. His zone coverage skills are outstanding; he adeptly senses all threats within his zone while being able to keep eyes on the quarterback. Wilson’s fluidity also allows him to effectively cover slot receivers in zone defense. He is projected to be a Division One safety, and as more people watch his tape, the offers are likely to follow.
