With that being said, I wanted to highlight some players at each position that deserve and are still seeking their first college offer. After already covering the offensive side of the ball, I have now turned my attention to the defensive side of the ball. With the defensive linemen and linebackers out of the way, here are some defensive backs in the class of 2025 in the state of Kentucky that still need offers.
Jackson Dillow Jackson Dillow 6’0″ | 180 lbs | DB Lexington Christian Academy | 2025 State KY is a player that has been on my radar for a while now and continued to impress this past season. Dillow lines up at safety where he is a ball hawk in pass coverage. He does a great job of reading the quarterback and route combinations then breaking on the ball with perfecting timing to make a play. Dillow finished this past season with three interceptions in 12 games, returning two of them for touchdowns. He has also shown the ability to provide support against the run, finishing his junior year with 31 tackles. I expect some offers to come Jackson’s way soon as he has received some college interest and definitely has the talent to play at the next level.
Javion Wallace Javion Wallace 5’9″ | 175 lbs | DB Louisville Central | 2025 State KY is another defensive back that has been on my radar for a while now that continued to stand out this past season. Wallace lines up at corner where he is very reliable in man coverage. He does a great job of opening up and running with receivers to mirror their routes. When the ball is thrown his way, Wallace has shown impressive ball skills, finishing this past season with three interceptions in 13 games. He also showed the ability to make plays against the run, finishing the season with 20 tackles. Wallace has already received some college interest and I expect more eyes to be on him heading into his senior year.
Deonte Stevens Deonte Stevens 6’2″ | 175 lbs | DB Pikeville | 2025 State KY is another defensive back that continued to catch my attention this past season. He lines up at safety where he is very impressive against the run. Stevens does a great job of reading the play and filling the lane in a hurry to make tackles in the open field. He finished this past season with 101 tackles and two tackles for loss in 13 games. Stevens has also proven to be reliable against the pass, showing the ability to read route combinations and put himself in position to make plays on the ball. He also scored one rushing touchdown this past season. I wouldn’t be surprised to see an offer come for Stevens soon as he has received some college interest and has the talent to play at the next level.
My final defensive back in this series is Julian Stafford Julian Stafford 5’9″ | 145 lbs | DB Martin County | 2025 State KY from Martin County. Stafford caught my attention with a very impressive junior year at corner. He showed that he is very reliable in pass coverage, showing the ball skills to turn and make a play on the ball with perfect timing when it is thrown his way. Stafford finished this past season with nine interceptions in 12 games. He also showed the ability to provide support against the run, finishing the year with 51 tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss. Julian hasn’t reported any college interest but should be a player for coaches to keep an eye on heading into his senior year.
