2025 Tight Ends Poised for a Big Season!

However, tight ends bring an element to the game that shouldn't be understated Whether being a receiving threat down the middle of the field, or being a bruising blocker, their impact is bigger than meets the eye. Today we will be diving into some tight ends who I believe are poised for a breakout season. The 6'4 200-pound monster accounted for 44 receptions for 803 yards and 13 touchdowns through 9 games. He had 3 100+ receiving games and was consistently thrashing the defense. Hurd is a big body receiver who uses his length to go up, extend and come down with the catch. He demonstrates good athletic ability by his very good jumping, good speed, acceleration, and change of direction. Hurd shows good mental processing as well by finding the void in a zone and exploiting it. He will extend his arms out to gain the 1u003csupu003estu003c/supu003e down as well. Hurd will also come back to underthrown balls and catch them. Henry has very good ball tracking and catching skills. He uses his long arms to pluck the ball out of the air. He'll even catch over the heads of defensive backs. Hurd has very good body control. An example of this was a toe-tap in the side of the endzone for a touchdown. He will adjust his frame either above or below and come down with the catch. Hurd excels at contested catches and 50/50 balls. If it gets thrown up to him, he's usually coming down with it. He uses his big body and physicality to bulldoze through defenders for extra yardage. Hurd is very strong and consistently breaks a lot of tackles. Osburn developed as a dependable target for his quarterback at Holy Family. He has good athletic ability due to very good jumping, good speed, acceleration, change of direction, and jumping. Osburn showed good mental processing by finding voids in the zone and exploiting them. In the scramble drill, he will come back to his QB giving him an easy reception. Anderson has good ball tracking skills in tandem with good catching skills. He was consistently catching footballs, either adjusting above or below to get them. He uses his good body control to keep both feet in bound and continue running after going up for the catch. Osburn is a physical receiver and uses it to his advantage. He will put his shoulder down creating contact and running over the defender. Osburn comes down with the contested catches, and uses his very good jumping skills to elevate over the defender. The 6'3 228-pound TE accounted for 35 receptions for 598 yards and 14 touchdowns. This kid is a touchdown machine, 40% of his catches were for touchdowns. Eismann has very good athletic ability due to elite change of direction, very good speed, acceleration, and good jumping. His change of direction is very impressive to me. He can pivot on a dime while maintaining top speed, not many players can do that. Showed good mental processing by staying in his zone and waiting for the QB for the easy completion. Eismann has very good catching skills. He was able to make a 1-handed catch while being contested. He'll use his big frame to catch over defenders as well. Very good ball tracking skills. He will come down with the catch even if it looks like he won't catch it. Eisman adjusts his body either above, below, and even behind him to make the catch. When the ball is in his hands, Eismann is gone. He uses his home-run speed to run past the secondary into the endzone. Eismann also has some good blocking skills up his sleeve. He has very good strength and pushes around defenders with ease. He uses a low pad level to out leverage the defensive line, and uses his good hand strength to control and steer them away. Eismann is an exciting prospect who deserves more eyes on him. The junior out of Prospect Ridge Academy measures in at 6'3 195 pounds which is a good size for a tight end. Throughout the 7 games he played, he accounted for 46 receptions for 393 yards and 5 touchdowns. Agbosse plays a WR/TE hybrid role for the offense. He has very good athletic ability due to very good speed, acceleration, good jumping, and change of direction. He showcased good mental processing by coming back to his QB in the scramble drill or identifying voids in the zone and exploiting them. Agbosse has good release vs off coverage and press/press jam. He'll use his athletic ability to accelerate faster vs off coverage. He'll use his physicality and big frame to beat the press jam and get open. He's a smooth route runner, and makes crisp cuts juking out defenders. He's got good catching skills. It looks like he is plucking it out of the air. He has good body control. He's able to toe tap both feet in bounds for a touchdown. Agbosse uses his frame to his advantage, and will drag defenders trying to tackle him. Agbosse also gets down and dirty with blocking. He's shown good hand placement and strength to control and steer defenders away from the pocket. He uses a low pad level to out leverage the defender.
