William “Trey” Dudley
William “Trey” Dudley
Have I told you how much I really like the running backs in the class of 2025 yet (short answer yes right 2025 VA running backs). We’ll more on this group again with William “Trey” Dudley Jr. as he has been blessed with FBS level talent. While in my previous piece I project most if not all of the backs to go division 1, Briar Woods said hold my drink and I found out more about Dudley. The workhorse back Dudley can stop and start on a dime, he can outrun or run over the opposing defender, putting up ridiculous stats as a junior. He recently picked up an offer from Howard to go along with his first offer from Old Dominion this past January. The amount of offers should reach close to 15 before his senior campaign begins.
Troy Lucas
Troy Lucas
Under the radar no more is Westfield linebacker Troy Lucas, the second team all concord district selection deserves your attention. Lucas is a speed demon with pretty good coverage skills, he has good range and his footwork is on point. I think what I enjoyed most about his work is that instead of just a standard highlight film, he put tape from each of his game this past season. Including the Bulldogs showdown with Lake Braddock which he really stood out, he has a game tape for each game, you do not see many kids do that these days. Anyhow he shows in their matchup against the Bruins he can play both linebacker and possibly safety at the next level, his range is that good. Running a 4.6 40 and close to 11.5 in the 100, you are not going to find faster linebackers in the conference.
Tyler Tanks
Tyler Tanks
6’5 with good speed I can see why FCS schools are starting to clamor for Mount Vernon’s wide receiver Tyler Tanks, a very intriguing prospect. The senior to be has solid size and is only getting stronger this off-season, I can see why VMI had him visit over the weekend. His route running is very good too you can see he knows how to create separation right off the snap. This is the type of kid that as he gets his name out there more colleges are going to hope he makes a visit. Tanks has a remarkable 4.5 GPA and is only beginning to scratch the surface of his potential, watch out for him this season he is going to turn some heads.
I am big fan of Saint Michaels program and how they developing kids to play major college football, receiver Matt Holland Matt Holland 5’10” | 170 lbs | WR Saint Michael the Archangel | 2025 State VA is another addition with major upside. It’s hard to determine what side of the football he is best on because he plays both wideout and corner at a really high level, I honestly couldn’t tell. The state qualifier in the 110 Hurdles Holland runs very well, adding on to the ridiculous amount of talent this offense already possesses. Out of this loaded wide receiver room Holland may be the fastest of the bunch which is saying something. Attracting interest from Virginia Union and UVA thus far, he will be a nice get whomever he decides to take his talents too.
