Tayven isn’t flying under the radar too much but he is still young into his high school career so I included him here. His freshman year was very impressive, having over 65 tackles and 10.5 for loss. He also contributed 4 sacks throughout the year. Collins is lighting fast and flies all over the field every game. He already picked up an offer from Nevada and will be getting more D1 offers as the years go on.
Bryson has great size for the defensive back position and utilizes his size to his advantage when matching up against opposing players. He tied the school record last season with 6 interceptions and will look to break that mark this season. Hodges long reach helps him get his hands on the ball easily when both players are going for it in a jump ball situation.
Carson has great length and uses it well at the cornerback position. He has great footwork and excels on both sides of the ball. He can read quarterbacks fast, being able to react quickly to the ball. Lang is going to be a name to watch next year.
Luca does a lot for this Anacortes defense and plays a variety positions for the team. Moore is a great open field tackler, being able to wrap up ball carrier smoothly. He reads the ball in the air and reacts quickly, which lead to 10 passes broken up and 2 interceptions on the season. He will have a bigger role on the offensive side of the ball too.
Highlights
Hunter plays WR/DB, not the listed QB position. He was an excellent cornerback last season, showing great awareness and the ability to break up passes with his long arms. He needs to gain a bit of muscle and be stronger when tackling ball carriers, but I think he will show improvement in that aspect. Offensively, we will see if he can carve out a key role in the Storms gameplan.
