With that being the case, I wanted to give some exposure to some of the underrated defensive linemen in multiple classes. These guys have the talent to play at the next level with different styles and traits to choose from. Here are five defensive linemen prospects to add to your recruiting board.

Arkadelphia defensive lineman Whit Alderson Whit Alderson 5’8″ | 190 lbs | LB Arkadelphia | 2026 State AR demonstrates a sideline-to-sideline motor with physicality. Alderson displays very good explosion off the line of scrimmage, good use of hands with hand timing, strength and hand placement to create leverage and beat his man inside. Solid lateral agility and lower body strength to attack his opposition head on and use technique to disengage. Alderson is a guy with quickness off the edge that can put consistent pressure on the quarterback. He is currently flying under the radar and should be someone to add to the board.

Pine Bluff defensive lineman Julius Stribling Julius Stribling 6’0″ | 230 lbs | DL Pine Bluff | 2025 AR brings power and explosiveness off the line of scrimmage. His reaction off the snap is impressive, showcasing good use of hands to beat his defender inside or out. Good speed to rush the edge and put pressure or sack the quarterback. Has the ability to drop back in coverage, making a play in space or getting his hands up and forcing a PBU. Good football IQ with good open field tackling and awareness. Stribling is someone you need to watch during the 2024 season.

Cox is a riser and should be added to your recruiting board.

Lafayette County defensive lineman Cedarius Miller brings quickness and power off the line of scrimmage. Demonstrates good footwork with the ability to get low and drive his man back into the pocket due to his hand timing and placement to create leverage. Strong lower body to help drive his opposition and disrupt plays in the backfield. Miller also plays on the offensive side of the trenches as well. Miller is someone you need to check out in 2024.

Sample displays very good upper and lower body power with active feet to drive his opposition into the backfield. While doing so, he’s constantly disrupting the running game or putting pressure on the quarterback. Good hand strength with hand placement to disengage off blocks. Sample brings you great work ethic and the ability to win at the line of scrimmage.
