With so many still on the market, I will break the articles up into multiple sections. Today, I will complete my series of uncommitted seniors.
An extremely versatile player, MyQuan Jackson MyQuan Jackson 6’2″ | 160 lbs | ATH Kenmore East | 2024 State NY can play a plethora of positions. On offense as a Wide Receiver, he can line up out wide as a true #1 or in the slot; blessed with great speed and excellent yards after catch. As a defender, he can play Cornerback, Safety or Linebacker if needed. At 6’3, Jackson has a wide wingspan and has an incredible nose for the ball.
As a Junior in 2022, Charles Smith Charles Smith 6’0″ | 170 lbs | LB Williamsville East | 2024 NY made a name for himself in the Williamsville East Defense with 92 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and 4 sacks earning 2nd team all league honors. But two games into his senior year, with already 19 tackles and a sack, Smith would be forced to miss the remaining 7 games. Charles is an aggressive playmaker that loves contact. He attacks with good form and has great closing speed. Charles Smith Charles Smith 6’0″ | 170 lbs | LB Williamsville East | 2024 NY is undersized as a Linebacker but I can see him as a major contributor on Special Teams.
Dylan Hart Dylan Hart 6’3″ | 190 lbs | ATH Hamburg | 2024 NY did a little bit of everything for the Hamburg Bulldogs; playing WR/DB/LB as well as being the team’s primary Kicker and Punter the last two seasons. Dylan is a gritty receiver that goes over the middle, runs the tough routes and makes the contested catches. Hart’s tenacity transfers to the defensive side where he is not afraid to get his nose in and make a tackle. Dylan Hart Dylan Hart 6’3″ | 190 lbs | ATH Hamburg | 2024 NY is another player I think would make an impact on Special Teams at the collegiate level.
Calvin Kulik Calvin Kulik 6’1″ | 185 lbs | WR Taft School | 2025 New E is a dynamic athlete with straight ahead breakaway speed. Kulik led Williamsville East in receiving with 37 receptions for 474 yards and 8 touchdowns and was an exceptional returner. A good route runner with a sound nose for the ball, Calvin can be an asset as a possession receiver in the next level.
Highlights
As a Free Safety, Mekhi Watkins Mekhi Watkins 5’11” | 155 lbs | ATH Orchard Park | 2024 State NY led the Quakers in tackles in 2023 with 84. Mekhi shows great athleticism and instincts. He has fluid hips and his speed allows him to run with any receiver that comes in his zone. Watkins tends to tackle high at times but if he can clean that up, he can be a viable defensive player at a high level.
As an Outside Linebacker, Dustin Thompson Dustin Thompson 5’10” | 190 lbs | LB West Seneca West | 2024 State NY is a good form tackler with the ability to rush the QB or drop into coverage. He can also shed blocks well and attack the ball carrier. An overall excellent athlete, Thompson could make an impact as a Running Back or if he makes a change to play Safety.
