Here you have a football coach who is a proven winner, going to a school that has long been stacked with talent – just waiting for the right combination to make a big splash and get the Tigers back on the right track.
Not only is Ramsey a teacher and motivator, but he has already shown that he is ready for challenges – as he did turn Jacksonville Mandarin from 2-8 in 2017 to a state champion.
Even though the Tigers finished 3-8 a year ago under Darryl Bartley, they qualified for the Class 2M playoffs but lost in the first round to rival Raines.
In 16 seasons, Ramsay is 99-74 after spending the past two seasons at independent Impact Christian, posting a 7-4 record in the Sunshine State Athletic Association.
WHAT WILL IT TAKE TO TURN THINGS AROUND
With Ramsey’s proven record and his approach to coaching, along with the fact that the Tigers return some quality talent, positive things can happen this coming season.
The 2025 rising seniors include Naphtali “Turbo” Adams (LB, 6-0, 190 – 3.7 GPA), Corey Battle (DE, 6-2, 215), Kennedy Bussey (DE, 6-3, 210), Austin Candler (OL, 6-1, 295), Brieon Glover (DB, 5-9, 155 – 3.1 GPA), David Jones (DL, 6-0, 270), Tay’vion Lawson (WR/DB, 6-2, 170 – 3.4 GPA), and defensive back Daniel Moss (DB, 5-11, 170 – 3.3 GPA).
UNDERCLASS DEPTH IS ESSENTIAL
While the 2025 class will be important for experience and leadership, keep an eye on the rising junior (2026) class – with Vladimir Adamcy (OL, 5-11, 256. Shot Put, Discus – 3.8 GPA), Jamarion Dixon (QB, 5-8, 160. Basketball & Baseball Athlete – 3.0 GPA), Roy Farrow (OL, 6-1, 260 – 3.0 GPA), Zion Hill (LB, 6-0, 210), Anthony Jones (WR, 5-11, 175), and defensive back
Cody Levy (5-7, 160).
There is also Johnny Miller (DB, 6-1, 190), Sylvester Miller (WR, 5-10, 150) and Davon Womack (DB, 5-7, 165). The 2027 (rising sophomore class) will also be solid with Alton Briggs (DB), Fred Gooden (QB, 6-0, 170), Amir Little Amir Little 6'3" | 165 lbs | DL FL (DE, 6-4, 200), Marshaun Parker (DB, 5-9, 140), and defensive back Maikel Pierce.
