Michael Clayton – DB – Northside
A new 2025 DB to know about in Middle Georgia, this Warner Robins native out of Northside is a speedy defensive back with a promising 6-foot-1 180-pound frame. He’s a cornerback who knows his job, shows quick feet, and can close quickly on the receiver when the ball is in the air. He does his job every play and gives max effort on every snap. He’s a reliable run defender who knows how to tackle, but he’s also capable of running down the ball carrier from behind due to his natural speed. A multi-sport star who runs track, Clayton’s speed shows up on Friday nights. He’s quick-reacting against the pass and had no problem breaking up passes throughout the year. A sure tackler, Clayton made 35 total stops last year along with one forced fumble, one INT, and seven pass breakups. His stock is on the rise, and he recently added his second D1 offer from the Minnesota Gophers. Look for more offers to come his way over the next several months.
Antoine Deslauriers – LB – Rabun Gap
A new peach-state defender on the rise who made his way down to Georgia to make a name for himself on the gridiron, this North Georgia linebacker is coming off a fantastic junior season for Rabun Gap where he 72 tackles, 18 TFLs, two sacks, three INTs, and two forced fumbles. The thick, compact defender brings a solid 6-foot-1 230-pound frame and shows natural instincts for someone new to the state. He plays fast, plays hard, and consistently finds a way to make big plays. He brings a physical element to his game and finds a way to consistently shed blocks and get after the ball carrier. College coaches are starting to notice his junior film, and now the promising linebacker holds a new offer from the Michigan State Spartans. Deslauriers played alongside several high-caliber D1 players, and he held his own and made play after play all season long. He was labeled as a “sleeper” linebacker last fall, but it looks like his recruitment is on the rise.
Dalen Penson – Sandy Creek
A speedy running back in the Atlanta area on the rise, Penson could see his recruitment really take off after earning a big offer from the Notre Dame Fighting Irish this week. One of the fastest and electric runners in the area, Penson stands at 5-foot-11 175-pounds who can really change a football game in a hurry. A triple jump and 4×200-meter state champion, Penson’s speed has translated well to the gridiron as he rushed for over 800 yards and 8 touchdowns in a backup role last year. He can throw the ball, but he’s at his best when he’s eleuding defenders down the field for a big gain. He shows good vision, shows plenty of burst, and can break off a long run anytime the ball is in his hands. With the Fighting Irish extending an offer, look for more to come Penson’s way before his senior season starts in the fall. His best football is still ahead of him, and he has a chance to lead the Patriots to a giant 2024 season.
