Doing these analyses allows me to spotlight a lot of players. There are a lot of young talented prospects and several sleeper prospects that could start getting looks for the next level. Prep Redzone Florida will always promote everybody in hopes of them getting the opportunity of playing college football at the next level.
Brendan Beery- Gulliver Prep c/o 27
6’2 190lbs
Beery is an up-and-coming prospect and showed a lot of improvement throughout the season leadingthe Raiders to a 7-4 record, district championship, and into the State Playoffs. Beery was the top quarterback in the district as a freshman; throwing for 1682 yards, completed 53% of his passes with 14 touchdowns. He also had a rushing touchdown. Beery is the top returning quarterback in the district next season.
Strengths:
- Shows the arm talent to make all the necessary throws
- Can put zip on the ball or throw with touch
- Deep ball is impressive
Humberto Serrano- Somerset Academy Silver Palms c/o 26
5’10 160lbs
Serrano was a first-year starter and showed that he will be a player to watch out for over the next several seasons! The sophomore finished second inthe district in passing with 1065 yards, completing 51% of his passes with 13 touchdowns. Serrano will be one of the top returning quarterbacks in the district in 2024.
Strengths:
- Throws with accuracy on the run
- Constantly attacks downfield
- Smart decision maker that plays with poise
Jaheim Mack- South Miami High c/o 26
5’11 150lbs
Mack is yet another talented up-and-coming prospect in the area. As a sophomore last season he finished third in the district throwing for 622 yards, completing 50% of his passes with 2 touchdowns in 9 games. He also rushed for 120 yards and 2 touchdowns. I’ll be keeping an eye on Mack this spring. Unfortunately he doesn’t have any Hudl film to evaluate.
