In this day and age, schools just do not turn it on and off. It has to come with hard work and dedication – year-round – to see the results.
What high school football has evolved to is a 12-month commitment to getting better. At a school that was a national wrestling powerhouse for over 40 years, there is an understanding that what you put into any sport is what you get out in the end.
What the Eagles are doing on the football field is starting to pay off. Camps, combines, conditioning and attending anything and everything for exposure and experience.
Instead of dwelling on the losses this past season, this program needs to focus on the wins against Tampa Freedom, Tampa King and Tampa Chamberlain.
As college coaches will pass through southeastern Hillsborough County this spring, there are a number of gifted prospects to keep an eye on.
