Three of the final four teams standing in the 18U bracket hailed from the home state, with the Central Louisiana-based JackBoyz coming away with the trophy.
We’ll take a look at some of the top 2025, 2026 and 2027 performers at the event, starting with some of the rising senior standouts on the offensive side of the ball.
Hayden Benoit Hayden Benoit 6'1" | 185 lbs | QB Loreauville | 2025 State LA — 6-1, 185 QB — Loreauville (2025)
The most under-the-radar of three quarterbacks on this list was the last standing Sunday with a championship performance for the JackBoyz that included two wins against the perennial power Bootleggers and the title-game victory against the hometown Dolphins’ Top Jacks. The Loreauville passer had a solid build and strong arm, navigated the pressure of several tight games and spread the ball around with minimal mistakes.
Colton Morris Colton Morris 6'0" | 205 lbs | QB Loranger | 2025 State LA — 6-0, 190 QB — Loranger (2025)
A familiar name on Prep Redzone Louisiana quarterback lists, Morris navigated through some early miscues and maintained his confidence and moxie to lead his Bayou/River Bootleggers regional team to a 4-0 start against a challenging pool-play slate against True Buzz’s Buzz Gang, Louisiana Elite and the Dolphins’ Top Jacks and the local rival Naturals in the opening round of bracket play.
Abram Wardell Abram Wardell 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Calvary Baptist | 2025 State LA — 6-0, 190 QB — Calvary Baptist (2025)
The state-champion Cavaliers quarterback stepped into the Bootleggers’ national team lineup for the first time this spring and led a 4-2 weekend. The typically surgical Wardell worked through the elements Saturday morning — as the team drew the first three pool-play time slots with some rain still passing through the area — to grit to a 2-1 day, continue building his chemistry with several new receivers and mount clutch drives Sunday in a pair of wins.
Diesel Solari Diesel Solari 5'7" | 175 lbs | ATH Cecilia | 2025 State LA — 5-8, 175 RB/ATH — Cecilia (2025)
Wardell spread the ball around to all his weapons, but the versatile Solari was among those who gradually became one of his go-tos as the tournament continued into bracket play. The Cecilia quarterback — and receiver, running back and defensive back — worked out of the backfield and slot to consistently break himself free on shorter and intermediate routes. But he also got loose downfield on a couple deep shots and made some strong-handed highlight catches in closer quarters, through contact and on diving plays on the ball.
Darius Washington Darius Washington 5'8" | 140 lbs | WR Alexandria | 2025 LA — 5-6, 135 WR — Alexandria (2025)
The speedy Trojans receiver, who came on strong down the stretch of his junior season this fall, was a go-to target for Benoit and repeated visitor to the end zone in the JackBoyz’ two victories vs. the Bootleggers with his ability to consistently create separation downfield and make catches over his shoulder, diving, spinning or otherwise adjusting at full speed.
Michael White Michael White 6'0" | 175 lbs | WR Mandeville | 2025 State LA — 6-0, 175 WR — Mandeville (2025)
Sticking with the pairs of top receivers with their quarterbacks, the speedy White was a top target for Morris and the Bayou/River Bootleggers in his first tournament with the team with his ability to stretch the field vertically and use of that threat to help create space as he breaks over the middle or to comeback toward the ball.
