Three of the final four teams standing in the 18U bracket hailed from the home state, with the Central Louisiana-based JackBoyz coming away with the trophy.
We’ll take a look at some of the top 2025, 2026 and 2027 performers at the event, including below some of the rising senior standouts on the defensive side of the ball.
Emil Allen Emil Allen 5'10" | 180 lbs | DB Mandeville | 2025 State LA — 5-10, 170 DB — Mandeville (2025)
The Skippers’ ballhawk made the most of his first opportunity with the Bootleggers’ national team, overcoming a couple big plays his direction early Saturday to snatch a victory-sealing interception to close pool play and then providing some of their most consistent coverage stretches Sunday, including a pair of well-covered plays in the first game of bracket play to highlight a late stop and get the ball back to his offense for the clinching score.
Arsenio Bolds Jr. Arsenio Bolds Jr. 5'11" | 210 lbs | DB Edna Karr | 2025 State LA — 5-11, 200 DB/LB — Edna Karr (2025)
The smart, vocal safety/linebacker manned the middle of the field, including multiple interceptions, for a Top Jacks’ Dolphins defense that allowed an average of just 13.25 points per contest — never allowing more than 19 — during a long weekend run to the tournament’s title game.
Tre Fuller Tre Fuller 6'2" | 180 lbs | DB Captain Shreve | 2025 State LA — 6-2, 180 DB — Captain Shreve (2025)
After the Bootleggers’ national team’s rough showing at Battle Miami, the defensive captain helped provide an immediate spark and tone with an interception on their first possession of the weekend and once again helped anchor the back end of the unit for solid performance overall.
Jarian Leday — 6-0, 145 DB — Ville Platte (2025)
The tall, long corner was among the defensive standouts for a JackBoyz’s group that shook off a weekend-opening loss to win its next six and claim the tournament title, highlighted by the unit posting two shutouts and allowing an average of just 6.5 points per contest during that streak.
Amari Simon Amari Simon 5'10" | 170 lbs | DB Westgate | 2025 State LA — 5-10, 170 DB — Westgate (2025)
Another standout in the JackBoyz’s stingy defensive showing and championship run, Simon played a variety of positions across the field, smooth in his backpedal and navigating around crossing routes, anticipating throws and making well-timed jumps on passes for interceptions and deflections.
Jarrell Williams Jarrell Williams 6'1" | 190 lbs | DB St. James | 2025 State LA — 6-1, 195 DB — St. James (2025)
The long safety with the good anticipation and ball skills continued his strong spring as one of the defensive leaders for the Bayou/River Bootleggers regional team.
