West Mesa Duo Announce Commitments: West Mesa was more than QB Elijah Brody Elijah Brody 6'3" | 185 lbs | QB West Mesa | 2024 State NM this past season. Two Mustangs announced their college commitments on Sunday: RB/DE Marcus Sharp Marcus Sharp 6'2" | 205 lbs | RB West Mesa | 2024 State NM pledged to Fort Lewis College in Durango, Co while DB Tavon Archibald Tavon Archibald 6'0" | 170 lbs | DB West Mesa | 2024 State NM committed to Arizona Christian University in Phoenix.
Silver OL commits to Western New Mexico: For a Class 4A program located in a geographically isolated portion of southwestern New Mexico, Silver produces a lot of next level talent. The latest Colt to commit is 2024 OL Lochlan Stern, who followed in the footsteps of QB Adan Jacquez Adan Jacquez 6'1" | 160 lbs | QB Silver | 2024 State NM and decided to stay home to play his college football.
New Offers: 2025 La Cueva OLB Mason Posa Mason Posa 6'3" | 210 lbs | LB La Cueva | 2025 State NM picked up an additional offer this weekend when Illinois of the Big Ten offered on Saturday. 2024 Farmington LB Ian Fishburn Ian Fishburn 6'2" | 225 lbs | DL Farmington | 2024 State NM was offered by Eastern New Mexico following a visit to Portales on Saturday.
Visits: Portales LB Devin Diaz Devin Diaz 6'0" | 185 lbs | LB Portales | 2024 State NM visited New Mexico Highlands on Friday. Diaz was recently offered by Kansas Wesleyan.
Eldorado OL Takes Midwest Trip: 2024 Eldorado OL Deejdrick Holloway-Herndon Deejdrick Holloway-Herndon 6'1" | 290 lbs | OL Eldorado | 2024 NM and his parents traveled to the Midwest for several days late last week to check out several schools, including Kansas Wesleyan, Bethany College, Ottawa University Kansas and Culver-Stockton College. Previously, he visited Eastern New Mexico, NMMI and Ottawa University Arizona.
UTEP Junior Day: Several 2025 NM Prospects attended UTEP’s Junior Day in El Paso on Sunday, including La Cueva QB Cameron Dyer Cameron Dyer 6'3" | 185 lbs | QB La Cueva | 2025 State NM , Cleveland DB AJ Manning AJ Manning 6'1" | 190 lbs | DB Cleveland | 2025 State NM , Hobbs OL Kylar Pickering Kylar Pickering 6'4" | 295 lbs | OL Hobbs | 2025 State NM , Cleveland DL Psalmon Kegler Psalmon Kegler 6'2" | 240 lbs | DL Cleveland | 2025 State NM and Roswell DE Mason Greathhouse. In addition, 2026 Cleveland OL Moses Sparks Moses Sparks 6'4" | 240 lbs | OL Cleveland | 2026 State NM attended as well.
Dyer, who is being recruited by the Miners as a QB, raved about the Sun Bowl to Prep Redzone New Mexico after he and his family met with new UTEP head coach Scotty Walden.
“I thought the Sun Bowl was very cool,” Dyer said. “I can definitely see myself playing in that stadium. The conversations with the coaches were great and I’m glad Coach Walden took some time to sit down with me and my family and talk about my future.”
Manning confirmed to Prep Redzone New Mexico that UTEP has started to recruit him. He has spoken with the UTEP defensive coordinator and safeties coach before and during his visit to El Paso.
“I have both of their cell numbers and they have mine,” Manning said. “The conversations have gone extremely well. We have talked about grades and just overall about myself and my character. The campus is great and the stadium is iconic.”
