Julius Columbus Julius Columbus 6'2" | 270 lbs | DL Gainesville | 2025 State GA – Gainesville
A fantastic Gainesville defender on the rise, Columbus is a quick, athletic interior lineman with the ability to blow up any particular play in the backfield. The 6-foot-2 285-pounder earned new offers this week from UCF, Jax State, Rice, and Central Michigan. An incredibly productive defender who should see bigger offers come his way down the road, Columbus was a game-changer for the powerful Gainesville Red Elephants last year as a junior. The dominant defender got to the quarterback an eye-opening 20 times last year to go along with 41 tackles, 15 TFLs and two forced fumbles. He may not be the biggest defensive lineman in the 2025 class, but he’s without a doubt one of the more productive linemen in the Gainesville area and across 6A. He shows quick, strong hands and the ability to swallow up ball-carriers. He leaves a bruise when he delivers a hit, and he’s going to deliver plenty of bruises during the 2024 season.
JaQuentin Madison – DT – Alpharetta
A big-time North Fulton defensive tackle on the rise, Madison strong force in the middle of the Raider’s defensive line with a lean 6-foot-3 275-pounds. He’s not the biggest defensive lineman in the 2024 class, but he’s still a big body who moves really well in the trenches. He reeled in several respectable offers in January, but the playmaking lineman earned a new Power Five offer this week from N.C State. He’s a nasty lineman who plays with a mean streak, knows how to tackle, and brings a promising frame along with a good motor when attempting to run down the ball carrier. Playing alongside several D1-caliber defenders on the Alpharetta defense, Madison stood out and made big plays on a weekly basis. He moves well for his size and will be even better as he continues to improve his technique while continuing to add more weight. With a big offer this week from the Wolfpack, look for Madison to possibly see more offers come his way soon.
Devin Ancrum – Mill Creek
The Mill Creek Hawks pump out quality Power Five defenders every year, and they’ve got one of the best in the area on the roster on the defensive line in junior, Devin Ancrum. A quick but powerful interior lineman, Ancrum did a great job of making plays in the middle of the trenches all season long. He’s a big body who holds his own and plays with great leverage at 6-foot-3 285-pounds. He fires off the ball and consistently found his way into the backfield. In total, the Mill Creek lineman made 49 tackles, 8 TFLs, two sacks and two forced fumbles. He was active all year long and made his presence known every Friday night. Now, his recruitment is starting to take off, and he recently earned new offers from UCF, Maryland, Kansas, West Virginia, Rutgers, among others. Look for him to have a giant senior season for the Hawks in 2024.
