Here is a look at nine of those players, two who have signed with an in-state Division I program and eight who are headed out of state.
Eli Richmond Eli Richmond 6'4" | 270 lbs | OL Paola | 2024 State KS , OL, 6’4”, 270, Paola (Kansas)
Richmond can push defenders all over the field. The big offensive lineman has committed to play for the Kansas Jayhawks. Look for him to compete for a spot at one of the tackle positions. He has solid footwork and might benefit from a redshirt season to continue to build his strength.
Colter McDaniel Colter McDaniel 6'1" | 180 lbs | DB Cheney | 2024 State KS , DB, 6’1”, 180, Cheney (Kansas)
Kansas is signing players from winning programs and among them is McDaniel who played for the Class 3A State Champion Cheney Cardinals. McDaniel can serve as a shutdown corner. He is a bouncy athlete who can go up and bring down or deflect pass attempts. He could have a future impact on the Jayhawks’ special team units as well.
Talan Browne Talan Browne 6'4" | 230 lbs | WR St. Thomas Aquinas | 2024 State KS , WR, 6’4”, 230, St. Thomas Aquinas (Louisiana Monroe)
Browne is a quick receiver with nice hands. He will be joining the Louisiana Monroe Warhawks. The Warhawks play in the Sun Belt and finished just 2-10 last season. The Saints receiver could be walking into a situation where he can earn significant playing time during his freshman season.
Anthony Lonergan Anthony Lonergan 6'1" | 185 lbs | DB Blue Valley | 2024 State KS , DB, 6’1”, 185, Blue Valley (St. Thomas, MN)
This group has a large number of defensive backs and you can add Lonegan to that list. Lonergan is more of a safety and finished with 51 total tackles during his senior season. He had back-to-back seasons with four interceptions and is headed to “Land of a Thousand Lakes,” to play for FCS program St. Thomas.
Jason Burroughs Jason Burroughs 6'1" | 215 lbs | LB Blue Valley | 2024 State KS , LB, 6’1”, 215, Blue Valley (Central Missouri)
Burroughs is a fast linebacker who had multiple offers. The Blue Valley product chose the Central Missouri Mules to be his future team. He can be disruptive in the backfield but also defends the pass well.
Max Barnes Max Barnes 5'11" | 175 lbs | DB Blue Valley Northwest | 2024 State KS , DB, 5’11” 175, Blue Valley Northwest (Missouri S&T)
Barnes is headed to Rolla, Missouri to play for the Missouri S&T Miners. Barnes is an excellent cover corner who could also play the safety position if needed. The Division II program is getting a solid playmaker.
Kaleb Kirgan Kaleb Kirgan 5'11" | 180 lbs | P KC Piper | 2024 State KS , P, 5’11”, 180, KC Piper (Nebraska-Kearney)
Kirgan has a big leg and the punter is all set to play for the MIAA’s Nebraska-Kearney Lopers. He averaged 34.4 yards per punt during his senior season. He also is a solid kickoff man who recorded 18 touchbacks during his senior campaign.
Johnnie Williams Johnnie Williams 6'1" | 160 lbs | DB Free State | 2024 State KS , DB, 6’1”, 160, Free State (Missouri Southern State)
Another Kansas product headed to a MIAA program is Free State’s Williams. The sneaky quick defensive back is headed to Joplin, Missouri to play for the Missouri Southern Lions.
William Kalihamwe William Kalihamwe 6'1" | 285 lbs | OL Olathe East | 2024 State KS , OL, 6’1”, 285, Olathe East (William Woods)
Kalihamwe can play at guard or tackle. He has a quick first punch and the speed to pull if needed. He is headed to NAIA program William Woods. The Olathe East Hawk product will be changing his feathers to those of an Owl, but hopes his college career takes flight.
