Mason Posa Mason Posa 6'3" | 210 lbs | LB La Cueva | 2025 State NM offered by Arizona: Posa, a 2025 OLB for 6A state champions La Cueva, added to his long list of schools that have offered by taking a visit to Tucson. Former UNM head coach Danny Gonzales is now on the Wildcats staff. Posa was also offered by Stanford in late January. He hosted Texas Tech head coach Joey McGuire for a visit at LCHS on Jan. 29.
Valley RB offered PWO by Lobos: Combining a powerful 6-foot-0, 215-pound frame with good speed, Valley running back Charles Lopez-Burton Charles Lopez-Burton 6'0" | 205 lbs | RB Valley | 2024 State NM rushed for over 1,800 yards for the Vikings this past season. New Lobos head coach Bronco Mendenhall and his offensive coaches apparently liked what they saw on film. They visited Lopez-Burton at VHS earlier this week and offered him a PWO (preferred walk-on) opportunity with the Lobos.
Cleveland WR commits to WNMU: Western New Mexico added a second prospect from the Albuquerque Metro region when Cleveland WR Karter Weddle committed to the Mustangs, joining Albuquerque High OL T.J. McCarthy. Silver High QB Adan Jacquez Adan Jacquez 6'1" | 160 lbs | QB Silver | 2024 State NM and Gadsden DL Nathaniel Lopez Nathaniel Lopez 6'1" | 260 lbs | DL Gadsden | 2024 State NM are also committed to WNMU, giving the Mustangs an impressive quartet of in-state commits.
Bernalillo LB offered by New Mexico Highlands: 2025 Bernalillo OLB Gabriel Trujillo Gabriel Trujillo 5'11" | 160 lbs | OL Bernalillo | 2025 State NM was one of the Spartans’ defensive leaders in 2023 with 88 tackles, 13.0 TFL and 10 sacks in 12 games. Trujillo was offered by New Mexico Highlands on Friday. 2024 Valencia OL Andrew Rightley and Portales WR/LB Andru Ontiveros Andru Ontiveros 5'10" | 150 lbs | WR Portales | 2024 State NM both visited NMHU on Friday.
UTEP Junior Day Sunday: New UTEP head coach Scotty Walden has been far more aggressive recruiting New Mexico than most of his predecessors. 2024 Cleveland LB Stratton Shufelt Stratton Shufelt 6'3" | 220 lbs | LB Cleveland | 2024 State NM recently committed to the Miners. UTEP Is holding Junior Day Sunday on their campus in El Paso and several NM prospects are expected to attend, including 2025 La Cueva QB Cameron Dyer Cameron Dyer 6'3" | 185 lbs | QB La Cueva | 2025 State NM , 2025 Cleveland DB AJ Manning AJ Manning 6'1" | 190 lbs | DB Cleveland | 2025 State NM and 2025 Cleveland DL Psalmon Kegler Psalmon Kegler 6'2" | 240 lbs | DL Cleveland | 2025 State NM have all said on social media they will attend the event.
