What the Palm Harbor University head coach told his football team was to remember the feeling of coming up on the losing side.
Yes, the Hurricanes had a tremendous 8-3 season, but if they are to get to that next level – and beyond – it all starts this off-season with football becoming a priority.
Loses to Tarpon Springs and Steinbrenner will not be accepted moving forward. Not with a program that has this much talent and outstanding coaching.
While the 2024 class moves on, it is time for the 2025 (rising seniors) and 2026 (rising juniors) to step up and take that leadership role and showcase the experience this team received in big wins against St. Petersburg, East Lake and Seminole.
That 2025 class is loaded with leaders and playmakers and that’s what this program is counting on in 2024.

CLASS OF 2026 GIVES THE HURRICANES FRONT LINE PERFORMERS
While depth will always be a concern, it’s the starters who will set the tone and the rising junior (2026) class certainly has the firepower needed – along with the 2027 and incoming freshmen (2028) to put the Hurricanes right back in the state playoffs.

THE SENIORS STILL NEED HELP
After a tremendous season and helping this team turn the corner, receiving state recognition, there are still 2024 seniors who still need some help getting to the next level.
Among the prospects who made major contributions in 2023 include Mykehl Boebert (RB, 5-9, 160 – 2.95 GPA), Walker Danneman (OL/DL, 6-4, 240 – 2.3 GPA), Gunner Fodor (LB/S, 6-0, 175 – 3.77 GPA), Matt Gunn (DB, 5-10, 155 – 3.75 GPA, 1270 SAT), Patrick Iaconis (LB, 6-1, 190 – 2.97 GPA), Jason Ice (DB, 5-11, 160 – 3.53 GPA), Jett Jackson (K, 5-11, 170 – 3.05 GPA), Zavion Roberts (DE, 5-10, 205 – 3.2 GPA) and wide receiver/defensive back Alex Schmid (5-9, 150 – 3.25 GPA).
