Following our winter evaluations, several new skill players joined the rankings. These guys have all demonstrated tremendous ability on the field and are set to boom coming soon.
As spring continues, we will be evaluating even more prospects to join this elite WR and TE class.
At 6’5″ 230, Maddox Lynch Maddox Lynch 6’5″ | 230 lbs | TE Warren Central | 2025 State MS already looks the part of a college ready tight end. As a pass catcher, Lynch displays some pretty remarkable ability split out wide. He runs smooth routes and knows how to use his bigger body to out leverage defensive backs while making contested catches. This is a guy with sticky hands; rarely do you see him drop passes intended for him. In the open field, Lynch has enough athleticism to make some plays after the catch and bounces off of contact well. The junior was even used at quarterback at times during the season, showing his athletic versatility. Lynch is a division one talent on the rise, just give him a little bit more time this offseason to continue rising in the rankings. Lists an offer from SEMO as of this January, but ought to add even more traction soon.
A speedster that can simply out-run defenders, Jalen Jones Jalen Jones 6’1″ | 170 lbs | WR Wayne County | 2025 State MS could be one of the fastest new additions to the entire rankings. Jones has special speed and burst and displays it in full force in both screen concepts and deep concepts. When used as a screen guy, Jones can go from 0 to 100 in a matter of milliseconds. He has loose hips that allow him to make defenders miss and make some serious cuts. Jones has natural ballcarrier vision and sets up his blocks well. On deep breaking routes, Jones does a great job at winning at the line of scrimmage and then stacking on top of the defensive back guarding him. He has smooth hands downfield and can make some impressive catches at times. Look for him to gain some offers in a matter of months.
A South Panola product, Marcus Christian Marcus Christian 5’7″ | 160 lbs | WR South Panola | 2025 State MS is an explosive slot receiver who may end up being one of the best in the state. At 5’8″ 160, Christian has room left to grow, but plays bigger than he is listed physically. Christian is a talented route runner who can run the entire tree at a high level. In the open field, this guy is deadly. Christian has the speed and burst to score from anywhere on the field at any given moment. He has great vision and understands how to outrun angles that defenders are taking. Christian does a great job at catching away from his body and looking the ball in before turning up field. The rising senior should turn some heads this offseason and find himself with some potential college offers by summer.
An incredibly gifted and productive athlete, Bryhsen Smith Bryhsen Smith 5’11” | 170 lbs | WR Ocean Springs | 2025 State MS could find himself playing on either side of the ball at the next level. The rising senior had a huge junior campaign, standing out as one of 7A’s best players. Smith was used in a variety of ways on offense – being both the deep threat and extra rushing weapon at times for Ocean Springs. He has great hands and catches the ball smoothly every time he is targeted. Smith is an impressive route runner who really knows how to out leverage defenders. When used in the screen or rushing game, Smith shows off some serious speed in the open field. He currently holds an offer from EMCC, but watch for this guy to add some additional traction soon.
