Polk County hosted an event on Wednesday with some of the top prospects in the area to showcase their skills in front of college coaches and scouts. Prep Redzone Florida will always promote everybody in hopes of them getting the opportunity to play college football at the next level. Prep Redzone scout Drew Johnson attended the event to provide insights and takeaways.
Top Standouts:
Alvaunte Brown | QB | 2024 | Pasco | @alvaunte
This kid was not even on my radar entering the event but finished as the top accurate passer, displaying a tight spiral and good arm strength to finish longer throws to the sideline. Brown has decent size at 6-2, 190 pounds with a strong lower body he uses to generate velocity on throws. The senior likely attended the event to get some extra reps in with hopes of gaining exposure. He accomplished both last night.
Cameron Fuse | WR | 2028 | @D1Cam04
Wow. This kid may be the next big thing at the wide receiver position to come out of the Polk County area. Fuse is just an 8th grader but you can’t tell that when looking at his frame and upside skills. An advanced route runner already, Fuse is only 14 years old with a 6-1, 175-pound frame combined with strong hands and decent speed. Telling you now college coaches, lock in and build a relationship with this future star.
Jocobie Dobie | RB | 2026 | Lakeland | @dobie_jadarius
My top RB standout of the event was Dobie who seems to have added 15 pounds to his frame. He was a productive back for the Dreadnaughts who have about 3-4 Division I backs on the roster, not including Dobie. You wouldn’t know that looking at the stats because he finished near the top. He showed off his ability to run crisp routes out of the backfield and finish plays with good hands.
QBs:
Joel Morris | QB | Class of 2026 | Sumner | @1_Joel_Morris
The new QB1 for Sumner HS made his way out to get some work in with his Polk peers. Morris has all the tools and body frame to develop into a top QB prospect in the class of 2026. I’ve had the opportunity to watch him develop since a freshman and he’s on the right track because of his work ethic and good parents.
John Kostuch John Kostuch 6'0" | 180 lbs | QB Winter Haven | 2025 FL | QB | 2025 | Winter Haven | @JohnKostuch
I continue to be impressed with the overall progression of this kid. He seems to grow each time I see him and his QB mechanics/arm is really starting to come together. Kostuch completed a couple of big-time deep balls that sealed his name on the standout list. The Winter Haven Blue Devils are building something and you need a reliable QB to help move the needle.
Blake Johnson Blake Johnson 6'1" | 180 lbs | QB Lakeland Victory Christian | 2025 FL | QB | Class of 2025 | Bartow | @Blakejohnson_11
Another kid who continues to grow into his frame and push himself to grow his body and overall mechanics at the position. Johnson has many tools in his arsenal it’s just taken time to all come together during a regular season. With more reps and training, I’m sure Johnson could be one of the top QBs in the county.
Blaine Walker | QB | 2025 | Sumter | @Qb1_11
Walker has moved around during his high school campaign but that hasn’t stopped him from progressing at the QB position. I’ve watched this kid work on his throwing release and lower body to get the most out of his arm. He’s still putting it all together but will surely make some noise at QB1 this fall season.
Best of the Rest:
Amari Turner Amari Turner 6'1" | 185 lbs | QB Auburndale | 2025 FL | QB | 2025 | Auburndale | 10Free_AT
RB/WR
Jaysean Prichard | ATH | 2025 | Auburndale | @D1Jaysean
Doesn’t matter where this kid competes he will finish as a top standout. Prichard can do it all on the gridiron as he even showed off his arm during the routes on air period. I think he will end up as a defensive back at the college level because of his overall football IQ, DOG mentality, and upside at one of the toughest positions in sports. Look for him to pop even more during the offseason and bring in some huge Power 4 verbal offers.
Malachi Carter | WR | 2025 | WInter Haven | @xxxmalachii
Carter was selected as one of the top WR standouts by coaches at the end of the event. He had the last 1v1 rep where he broke down the defensive back at the line of scrimmage then used his speed to jet down the sideline for a 40-yard catch near the endzone sideline. Nice route running skills and blazing speed will give this kid a chance at the next level.
Josh Bellamy | RB | Class of 2025 | Lakeland Christian | @JoshBellamyJr1
Bellamy has been a playmaker and productive piece for the Vikings so far this season. He’s still slept on in the Polk area despite a nearly 1,000-yard rushing season with double-digit touchdowns.
Devonte Howard | WR | 2026 | LCS | @DJhoward_6
Seems this kid has played every position, a pure athlete that will likely move on to wideout for his high school campaign.
Jordan Tarver | WR | 2026 | Winter Haven | @Jordantarver100
A decent framed rising sophomore with 6-1 height to make plays on the ball. Excited to see how he competes against his peers.
Offensive Line
Sadler Soles Sadler Soles 6'2" | 285 lbs | DL Clewiston | 2025 FL | OL | 2025 | Clewiston | @SadlerSoles
Soles came to the showcase on a mission after just dominating at our PRZ event recently with an MVP-earning performance. This kid finished as one of the top O-line standouts after watching him display good feet, hands, and technique. A rising junior who can generate some interest around his college recruitment this offseason with more exposure.
Bauer Smehyl Bauer Smehyl 6'2" | 245 lbs | TE Sebring | 2025 FL | OL | 2025 | Sebring | @BSmehyl45
Smehyl was my other standout offensive lineman of the night after displaying great strength and technique. He has a decent frame at 6-2, 245-pounds with versatile skills to move around on the line. Smehyl was a beast last night! Pushing rushers to the ground and I’m not sure if he lost a rep in the 1v1 period.
