In this article, we are going to look at several prospects that are ready to have big 2024 seasons. Several of the prospects we touch on today are prospects that have exploded from a recruiting perspective. Here are some prospects to keep an eye on this offseason.
Lance Jackson Lance Jackson 6'5" | 240 lbs | DL Pleasant Grove | 2025 State TX -Defensive Line-Pleasant Grove-6’5” 245-Pounds
Recently, Jackson placed a verbal commitment with the Texas Longhorns. He is a prospect that can cause all kinds of problems for the opposing offensive line. Jackson uses his size well to alter throws from the opposing quarterback. Meanwhile, he is a defensive lineman that can get off of blocks and haul down the opposing ball carrier. Jackson is a player that can live behind the line of scrimmage if the opposing offensive line cannot account for him. Jackson is a player with the potential to have a big 2024 football season.
Kelvin Young Kelvin Young 6'3" | 315 lbs | OL Waco | 2025 State TX -Offensive Line-Waco-6’3” 315-Pounds
Kelvin Young Kelvin Young 6'3" | 315 lbs | OL Waco | 2025 State TX can play multiple positions along the offensive line. He is a powerful prospect that does not have a problem opening up rushing lanes. Young comes out of the stance quick and gets into the opposing defender. He does a good job of getting his hands under the opposing defender’s pads and just driving him backward. Young is a prospect to watch out for this upcoming season and a player with the potential to explode from a recruiting perspective.
Kiandrea Barker Kiandrea Barker 5'11" | 185 lbs | RB The Woodlands | 2025 State TX -Running Back-The Woodlands-5’11” 185-Pounds
With college scouts looking for running backs that can do it all, Kiandrea Barker Kiandrea Barker 5'11" | 185 lbs | RB The Woodlands | 2025 State TX would be a good target to examine. Barker does a great job of carrying the ball between the tackles. Meanwhile, he is a running back that has the speed to cut the run to the outside. Barker can be used effectively in the passing game whether it be out of the backfield or split out wide. Barker is a running back that has the ability to have a strong 2024 football season.
Preston Baker Preston Baker 6'3" | 210 lbs | TE Smithson Valley | 2025 State TX -Tight End-Smithson Valley-6’3” 225-Pounds
At 6’3”, Preston Baker Preston Baker 6'3" | 210 lbs | TE Smithson Valley | 2025 State TX does an excellent job of using his size in the passing game for Smithson Valley. He is an unselfish player that has no problem blocking for his teammates. He can chip the edge rusher and work in the passing routes. Meanwhile, he has the hands to haul in everything thrown his direction. Baker has the potential to do big things this upcoming season for Smithson Valley.
Bo Onu Bo Onu 6'2" | 190 lbs | ATH Hebron | 2025 State TX -Defensive Back-Hebron-6’0” 190-Pounds
Bo Onu Bo Onu 6'2" | 190 lbs | ATH Hebron | 2025 State TX opens plenty of eyes at the safety position for Hebron. Onu fends off blocks and attacks the opponent’s rushing attack with impressive consistency. He has the speed to track down the ball carrier and he does not shy away from making a hit. Onu plays the ball well in the air and can make plays on the football. The Hebron safety is a prospect that I am expect a strong 2024 season from.
