Bailey Abercrombie Bailey Abercrombie 6’4″ | 290 lbs | DL Gardendale | 2025 State AL was a dominant defensive linemen for Gardendale last fall, he was destructive at both defensive tackle and defensive end and made a significant impact against both the run and pass. Against the run, Abercrombie was able to consistently close up gaps and make things difficult for the ball carrier- he frequently didn’t allow them get into the open field and was a constant force at the line of scrimmage. Against the pass, Abercrombie provides good pressure on the passer and has a variety of moves he can use to beat blockers. Last fall, Abercrombie had himself a really solid season, recording 22 total tackles (13 solo, 2.0 for loss) on the year. Recently Abercrombie has picked up some attention from the next level, listing offers from Memphis, Troy, UAB, and more. Keep an eye on him this fall at Moody- he’s sure to make some big time plays for them!
Jaden Dobbins Jaden Dobbins 5’11” | 170 lbs | DB Anniston | 2025 State AL is a really talented defensive back for Anniston that has thrived in coverage, especially over last season. Dobbins is a really good option in their secondary- whether he’s supposed to be in man or zone he is able to make a huge impact on opposing offenses passing attack. Dobbins also has good hands, he can frequently jar the ball free and intercept passes. He’s not just a coverage corner though, Dobbins makes a great impact against the run as well. Dobbins has the ability to track, react, and make tackles on the ball carrier regardless of where he initially begins on plays. Recently, Dobbins picked up an offer from North Alabama- keep an eye on him in his senior season, he’s sure to add some more to that list!
Cayden Adkins Cayden Adkins 6’2″ | 230 lbs | LB Elba | 2025 State AL is a seriously valuable defender for Elba- all of last season he was a destructive linebacker that made a ton of plays behind the line of scrimmage, in the open field, and helped consistently grab some turnovers as well. Adkins is a big guy that has a lot of speed, acceleration, and ability to make explosive plays from sideline to sideline against both the run and pass. All last season, Adkins was a dominant force on for their defense- he ended the season with 120 total tackles (81 solo, 40 for loss), 7 sacks, 12 hurries, one interception, two forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries. Just the other day, Adkins picked up an offer from Eastern Kentucky- and with his production and talent he presents on the field, he’s only going to pick up more throughout the next year!
Andrew Purcell Andrew Purcell 5’11” | 185 lbs | DB Enterprise | 2025 State AL is an extremely talented defensive back that has really crept up onto our radar fast over the last few weeks. Purcell is a dynamic defensive back with plenty of athleticism that has been recruited by a lot of top tier programs recently, and rightfully so. What he was able to accomplish last fall at Enterprise was nothing short of fantastic- he was a lockdown defensive back that easily baited quarterbacks into bad passes, locked up receivers, and made plays against some really tough talents across the state. Purcell is incredibly athletic and has a great build for his position, he moves really well in space, matches up well against a wide variety of receiver types, and doesn’t allow for big plays to be made on him. Over the last few weeks, Purcell has picked up offers from Oregon, Ole Miss, UCF, and tons of other great programs all across the nation. Keep an eye on him going into this next season, he’s definitely a name to watch!
