With much of the city of Starke and surrounding areas making the nearly three-hour trip to the state capitol, the Bradford County Tornadoes opened up some eyes as they battled national power Cocoa, and while they came up short, this program earned some credibility – fast.
With head coach Jamie Rodgers and his feisty team giving all they had, it was evident why this team won 14 of 15 games, outscoring the opposition, 462-90. It was all clear why this team, which lost to Cocoa the year before, had won 26 of 29 games in a two-year run, posting an amazing 15 shutouts before the Tigers beat them, 20-6.
As they closed the book on 2023, several key seniors were moving on to the next level – leaving some impressive prospects to step up and take leadership for 2024.
Among those players coming back including rising seniors (2025) such as Jordan Barton (WR), Tyler Berry (FS), Cayden Carter (OG), Brian Cliffin III (RB), Hunter Cochran (DE/OL), Jacob Ferguson (OT), Jaden Hankerson (OC), Jeremiah Hill (DE), Trent’ Jenkins (DT) and offensive center Grayson Jennings (OC).
The class also features Jeremiah McKenzie Jeremiah McKenzie 6'2" | 180 lbs | DB Bradford | 2025 FL (QB/LB), Michael Oliver (WR), Dayton Roberts (LB/Athlete), Reese Wainwright (DE), Barron Walden (DT) and safety Branden Williams.
STRONG UNDERCLASS IS READY
While the rising senior group is set to make an impact, so are the underclassmen, who have talent and are gaining in experience. Class of 2026 prospects like Ridge Bradley (OG), Chase Breaux (LB), Jy’Quez Cason (CB), promising offensive lineman Kyren Green, Justin Hall (WR) and running back Elijah Lawrence.
Also keep an eye om those rising sophomores in the Class of 2027 where Jordan Cason Jordan Cason 5'10" | 150 lbs | DB Bradford | 2027 FL (WR), Cole Chapman (OT), Parviele Lee (Slot), Joshua Matthews (OG), Ryen Roberts (OLB) and offensive guard Tyler Wallace are ready for their turn.
